I read somewhere that they are only opening a few buildings of the Pop Century (I can't remember which ones, but I think its the 50s). My sister and I would like the stay at the 70s or 80s, will they be open for our trip in January? Also, if they are just opening the 50s does that mean if we book it we will have to pay the extra $10 a night for the room?

I cannot answer this - but hopefully one of our other posters can!

I've also heard that they are only going to open a couple of the buildings. I have no clue as to which ones though. I don't see why you should have to pay the extra money for the preferred room if you didn't request it. :sunny: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :bounce: :Pinkbounc :sunny:

I believe the buildings that will be open on DEC 14th will be the 1950's to 1990's. I have reservations from DEC 16th to 23rd and have requested the 1970's building.

From what I can speculate... Pop Century will have a staggered opening. For example, the 50's and 60's might open the first day or two, and then the 70s-90's might open the third and fourth days.

I do not know this for sure at the moment, but I am speculating based on the original staggered opening dates.

On The Mousesavers sight, Mary says.... They will be opening the first floor in each uilding in order to stagger the opening, But, also enabling requests. Sorry I can not post a link. I am clueless::yes:: However go to her last trip report and look at her press tour Of Pop Century!

Well,,, all I can add is that I am going to be there OPENING DAY (LOOK OUT TYLER LOL) and I was TOLD I will be in the 60 building..I did not request a perferred building, so I had NO IDEA it was a extra ten dollars until the reservation was complete and payment being made,,I KNOW I could have changed it THEN,,but I figured for OPENING DAY--I will go the extra 10 bucks ....so look for our CHRISTMAS TREE in the window...it will have a LIME GREEN RIBBON on it SOME WHERE!!!!! AN ALL DISNEY TREE!!

I got my ressie the other day and since this is new to us veterans too. Why does it say Pop Century--the classic years on top. Does the classic years mean any type of designation, or does all confirmations say this. I have a ressie for October 2004.

The Classic Years will be the 1950-1990 section. Legendary will be 1900-1940 (not open yet).

Think of it like All-Star Sports, Music or Movies.

I have specifically requested the preferred view. So the extra $10 is of my own choosing. I also have a request in for a king bed. We shall see. I can't wait! Mickey
