Pop Century - August 2003???

Do you think Pop Century will be open by next August? I'm working on my DH for a trip for August 2003 instead of waiting till October so we can celebrate our baby's first birthday. I'd like to keep this trip on the cost-concious side because I want to go to WDW 3 times starting in August 03.

So I figure if we do Pop Century from 8/2 (my birthday) to 8/9 (baby's birthday is 8/8), then Halloween from October 27 - 31 then again in July or August 2004 for 2 weeks, and get annual passes, we will probably be able to afford it all! I'd also like to keep Aug. 03 and Oct. 03 on the low cost end of things because in July/Aug. 04 I want to stay at the Polynesian.

Is this a good plan or what? LOL!

I can't wait to go back!!!!!!!!!!!

I spoke with some castmembers while down at WDW last week, and they said that there is still MUCH construction to be done at Pop Century, and they don't know when or even if it will open. They may be looking for other uses for it, or perhaps some other chain to buy it, like was done with the Swan and Dolphin. Of course, all of this could be rumor, but to be on the safe side, I wouldn't put all of my apples in one basket, and would decide on an alternative in which you would be happy!

Humm, I heard it was opening in June 2003. But, of course, that is "subject to change".

How about ASMo? Or, maybe even POFQ? You could stay at POFQ in August, and POR in October, then you'd have stayed at all the moderates!

So, you are leaning towards the Polynesian in July/August 2004? I thought you didn't like the Polynesian when you stayed there last year? Or, did you say your mom wanted to stay there? I still like the Beach Club/Contemporary Tower idea.

I believe Pop has been put into indeffient hiatus. I do not see it opening in the near future.
