Well I never imagined that me and my husband would get to go to Disney without my youngest daughter and me not feel so guilty. But she said next year she wanted to go to the National FFA convention with her school and that means a short, Halloween Disney trip for me and him. What resort would you suggest for the end of October for next year? I have stayed in a lot of them, but I am thinking Pop Century would be big enough for just us two? I wouldn't care to go up to a moderate, but I have always wanted to try Pop, but not with 3-4 people. Standard room or preferred or what?

DH and I stayed at Pop twice and enjoyed it. It was plenty big enough for the two of us. Now that it’s been refurbed I would love to go back, since we would be guaranteed a queen bed and wouldn’t have to hope our request for a king (instead of the previous doubles) was filled. In fact, I’d be happy with the regular two queen configuration since we could keep the Murphy up all the time and have the extra floor space.

We had a standard room the first time, which was in building 10 in the 70s. It faced the parking lot, but there were a lot of trees in the way so actually a pleasant view, and we liked being able to cut across the parking lot to the bus stops. It wasn’t a very long walk to the food court in Classic Hall either. Our second stay was a preferred room in building 3. Again a short walk to Classic Hall. If we stay there again, though I’ll probably try for a lake view room in building 4 or 5, just for the quiet and the location close to the Skyliner.

We stayed at Pop and AKL this trip
We loved both, but we really missed the Skyliner being at AKL! It was so nice having that at Pop.

Pop is my favorite value resort! No need to spend the extra dollars on a preferred room in my opinion. Ask for a room in the 70's or 50's sections - they are not too far from anything.

My DH and I love Pop - the refurbished rooms are amazing! We never request a location and have never got anything bad - usually we are put in 80's.

I agree. We booked preferred for our second stay because standard wasn’t available, and our room was in the 50s section facing the pool. A standard room on the other side of the building would have been just as convenient to Classic Hall. I’m hoping the lake side rooms in buildings 4 and 5 remain standard and don’t become preferred due to Skyliner convenience.

I just booked a standard room for 4 adults, which sections are closest to the skyliner?
