I seriously considering doing a surprise trip for my family for Christmas 2008. We would leave Dec 26th and the present would be under the tree for all to open on Christmas morning.

My questions are, I think that all I can masterfully and successfully stiphon from our money is 5-6 nights at POP, We LOVE LOVE LOVE POP, but my concern is is it Christmasy enough?

We are not commando park goers we usually do 2 parks each trip. MK is always one and I think MGM (whatever they are calling it now) would be the other so we can see Osbourne light. Do you think we should do 3 parks and and EPCOT. We are doing EPCOT this June.

I just don't know if we will get the Holiday feel if we are in a value. I may be able to do CBR, would that be more Christmasy than POP?

Any and all advise is appreciated. :goodvibes

Epcot is a must do at Christmas--Pop Century is fine at Christmas-really good gift shop--:santa:

We stayed at the Pop this past Christmas week and it was very Christmasy. They have a very nice big tree outside Everything Pop and the food court and gift shop were also nicely decorated. There is another tree in the lobby tv room and I think one or more at the main entrance. I also brought window clings and Mickey/Minnie Christmas lights for our window.

We stayed at the Poly and I didn't think it was very Christmassy (Beach Club was more so). All you have to do is walk up Main Street and have "snow" fall on you and Christmas is all around you....

We've stayed at Poly and CBR in Dec. and I honestly can't say that either felt very Christmasy, but the Parks did!

Love your idea!!
We loved POP...DD10 wants to go back!

THe gift shop/counter service area is better than some deluxes in my opinion!

GO FOr IT!

hmm, so I'm gathering that POP is as great at Christmas time as it is in the summer.

Thank you everybody. I'm just so nervous about planning this surprise trip. I'm really concerned about airfare. what is its astronomical, then I have to tell DH. :confused3

But I suppose if I plan to purchase it right after the November billing cycle I can put it on the charge card, then DH won't have to see it until Dec :lmao: let him pay for it :lmao: That can be his present to the family.;)

To the budgeteers - don't worry we'll pay it off right away :rotfl:
