Well my girlfriend has been wanting to see Cirque Du Soliel for awhile now and we live in Tampa, so for Christmas I suprised her with a trip to Disney for a weekend.

We've got reservations the first night (1/7) at POP and will be arriving late, 7pm or so I would Imagine. Then Saturday we move to Coronado Springs for 1 night and do the 9pm Cirque that night as well.

We we're able to get $55 incl tax at POP and $146 at CSR. If we enjoy the trip we are planning to buy AP's later in the year so we can make monthly mini-getaways and only have to pay for hotel basically.

We opted to stay at two different hotels simply to check the two out and do to the great Friday rate at POP (they were sold out Saturday). I'm hoping it won't be a huge pain to move.

Anyways we are both in our early/mid 20's so I'm looking for suggestions on other things to do while there. We MAY do one park (MGM), but if not we'll have Friday night and the day Saturday free to explore. Any fun suggestions? On a budget this trip, but somewhat flexible. Looking mainly for small activity/ dinner suggestions. Any special requests/things I should know about the hotels. I've read the many excellent threads, and being a first time on-siter, I'm overwhelmed. Used to be a Universal person, but GF really enjoys Disney, so we're giving it a go.

Thanks!

We just went Christmas Day! It was SPECTACULAR! I've never spent that kind of money on entertainment and may never be able to again, but boy am I glad we did! You can't even take in the whole show in one viewing. There is just so much going on you can't possibly see it all!

My DH did the Segway tour at Epcot and he loved it! You do need park admission for this. Dinner at O'hana (Poly) was great. No park admission needed for that and you get to ride the monorail and visit a nice resort. Bob Jackson is in the lounge at POR some nights and I've heard he's great. We're going to try to catch him while we're here. It would give you a chance to see yet another resort (POR). Being on your twenties, you might like the boardwalk area. We had lunch at the ESPN club today. There seems to be some clubs to dance at.

Thanks for the suggestions. Dinner at O'hana sounds great!! Anyone else??

Thanks again,
Jim

We stayed at POP and Coronado in November. I did not think it was a big deal to move :) It worked out fine. I think Pleasure Island is a lot of fun for a night out. Enjoy!

Coronado is my favorite so far. Take a walk around the lake in the evening, very romantic.

The Boardwalk has a lot of activities you may enjoy, ESPN club or the Brewery there. The Flying Fish has really good food but doesn't really fit for budget. I have not been to Spoodles but it looks interesting.

If you are going to be downtown try Adventurers Club at PI. Now that is a fun place!

At Coronado you have to try the margarittas! They rock.

You can rent surrey bikes or water mice at CSR. Pontoon boats too. Check out my CSR website for pics, links and info.

Thanks again everybody!!

We've been wanting to try Adventurers Club as everyone highly recommends it. Thank you for reminding me!! Water mice sound like a good option as well!

1 more week!
