Poor upcoming weather forecast

The next 4 or 5 days at WDW look terrible weather wise. I understand thunderstorms are common and when they are for short times, it's fine but the weather report looks like rain continually 90% chance, and it does not say scattered, it says thunderstorms. How do you know by reading the weather reports, if the rain will be continual or just a storm or 2?

Could rain all day or not at all. You can't count on weather forecasts more than an hour or two out. I only use the hourly breakdowns

The other night at midnight it said 97% chance of rain for 10am. Come 10am, it was 5% chance.

Plan on rain but don't be suprised when it doesn't rain. And when it does, it's normally brief showers

^^^^ Perfect description of our weather patterns here in Orlando. Plan for the worst, but you may get the best.

Take today for instance. It rained for about five minutes at our house ... Which is less than five miles from Disney property. Buddies were at the parks and said no rain at all. Though yesterday it rained for the better part of the entire day.

I've seen it pouring rain at the Studios and bright sunshine at EPCOT at the same time. It just happens.

Florida weather, especially in the summer :)

It's hit or miss. Just be prepared to take your ponchos and go. :) We don't let storms stop us from having fun in the parks, yes it is less pleasant because of the rain but tolerable. Just be careful if there is lightning, don't mess with that stuff. Have fun!pirate:

Agree with the others. When we go to Disney World at any time of the year, we always take our ponchos. We will check the weather forecast that day to see if they go into the parks with us or not.

Besides, the one thing you cannot change while on vacation is the weather.

We go every August and as others have suggested just take ponchos, we also wear shoes (like Tevas or other sandals) that will dry quickly. We don't pay attention to the forecast we look at the radar and go by that to track the storms. We also just keep going if it isn't lightning, if it is we stick to inside attractions. As others have said you don't want to mess with that! A lot of times we find that the rain clears out whatever park we are in and we can just keep going with little to no wait times, it's great! Don't let it interfere with your fun!

We currently live only 2 miles from the MK Castle. Our experience this past month has been pretty much the same forecast the OP is seeing every day. Our actual experience is a scattered thunderstorm every day. I don't recall a day that was nothing but rain. YMMV.

So we call the soothsayers of weather, the prognosticators of storms, "weather liars". Florida weather in the summer is A.D.D. at best. Plan on rain, but I would highly suspect anyone who says there will be rain 90% for 4 days unless there is a hurricane storming through.

So here's the deal with the percentage predictions. If it's saying 90% chance of thunderstorms that just means that there's a 90% chance that at some point that day, somewhere in the forecast area, there could be a thunderstorm. It does not mean that it will storm for 90% of the day. Also, I don't trust any weather predictions for Florida. It could be storming in the MK at the same time it's sunny in Epcot. The weather is very changeable and can be extremely localized.

Also, everyone has different predictions anyway, lol:

Weather in Florida is different than other places. I'm use to "fronts" that push through, so you can see them coming and know when they'll pass. In Florida, storms materialize and dissipate at random. There's very little predictability.

It's Florida - which means it could rain for two hours or all day. I remember in December it said it was supposed to stop raining at 8pm. We came out of our reservation and it stopped raining and then Boom... it started POURING. I actually opened up my weather app to check how long the rain would last and the app told me it wasn't raining. :confused3 .. you just can't trust it. Save some indoor attractions, such as Philarmagic for when it rains. Also keep in mind of the covered areas where you can get around - such as Main Street. You can walk from Casey's to Town Square from within the gift shop. Just some helpful tips.

Weather in Florida is incredibly consistent and lousy. You can pretty much guarantee it will be terribly hot and humid. You can pretty much guarantee you will be rained on between 20 minutes and 2 hours. Every once in a while you get a rainier day, but incrementally its not that much worse. As long as you don't have a hurricane, you are good.

In the end, we all stress over the weather, but why bother. You have zero control over it, and you can't cancel your vacation over it. (Unless said hurricane cancels your flight!) Just deal with it, or go in November instead.

We were there in late May. We had four days of 65% chance of thunderstorms. It rained one day.
