Poor DS....

My youngest started middle school this year, so we've eliminated all Disney from his school wardrobe including his Tower of Terror and Rock 'n Roller Coaster shirts, which he could still wear in fifth grade. The only cartoon characters he's wearing to school are the World Industries skateboarding guys. The funny thing is that all this stuff will be perfectly acceptable again in three years when he starts high school.

My middle child is the type of kid who knows what's cool about a week before everyone else, but he made the mistake of wearing a Tigger baseball shirt to middle school. That expensive shirt was never on his body again -- he wouldn't even wear it at Disney World after that!

This happened to my dd when she was in second grade. She had an eeyore shirt (well, that was one of many Disney shirts in her closet) and she came home crying. I couldn't believe at 7 years old, girls cannot wear Eeyore! I told her when she got back to middle or high school, she could wear Eeyore again. Now she's in 4th grade and she can wear Tinker Bell and Minnie/Mickey, but no other characters. And my ds is in 7th grade, and it's hard to buy stuff for him at Disney because he can't wear most of it at school.

Doesn't this make him an honorary DISer?

Who among us has never been made fun of for our Disney obsession?

You should hear what people say to a 41-year-old guy if he wears Disney clothing a little more often than is socially acceptable!
