I have been reading lots of post of inconsistent application of the DDP rules at various resorts and parks. Do you think that DDP receive a lower level of customer service?

We didn't have any issues with the DDP or the level of service during our trip in August on the free DDP. I will say that the most inconsistent thing is the snack credits. We noticed in some places you could use a SC for a large fountain drink while in others it was only a med. Some locations have everything clearly marked as part of DDP and others don't, so in some instances you may have to ask.

My family has used the DDP twice in the past year. onnce fpor free. We recieved excellent service in every instance with the exception of the Concourse Steakhouse. In this case, I got the impression that this was the way our CM was, not any indication that the DDP was to blame. We are using it again in January with no worries.

Our service was excellent on the DDP and no different than the meals that we paid OOP. :thumbsup2

We've been two years in a row during free dining using the plan and have never, ever gotten poor service anywhere due to it.

In fact, we've noticed that most servers go out of their way to make sure you "get the most" of what the plan allows.

Thanks for the posts - sounds like it may be that just like with any thing if you catch someone that might be having a bad day then ....... I can't wait to eat my way around the World...lol

We returned last night from WDW and free DDP, and the experience was excellent!

Three servers come to mind:

- John at LeCellier
- Alessandro at Alfredo's (we spoke at length about his home in Florence)
- A young lady at Raglan Road (I wish I could remember her name to give her full credit. When I do, I'll edit to add her name....)

Each of these fine individuals made absolutely certain we were completely at ease, relaxed, and that we made full use of the DDP. They were excellent!!!

There was one CS episode which initially was bad, but Disney customer service made everything all good. We were incorrectly charged two CS credits at Cosmic Ray's. The manager (Tim) told us he corrected things, when in fact he did not. A call to customer service the following morning from our POP room corrected things....OVER THE PHONE! We didn't have to drag our receipts down to the front desk! Everything was corrected over the phone in minutes by a very pleasant young lady. We were impressed!

I didn't notice anyone getting treated better/worse than we were. We had a couple of minor problems using credits (due to my brain being missing that day) and a couple of servers who weren't overly enthusiastic in general, but our trip was excellent!

We just came back from our first trip to WDW while we were on the DDP and the level of service we received was no different than on past trips. Every server knew we were on the DDP upfront and I just told them to put anything that was not covered on the DDP to just put on a seperate bill. Everything was great.

We were at Disney at the end of Aug during free dining. I felt for the most part we had wonderful service. Our best service was at Rose and Crown. We had an amazing table on the patio with a wonderful view of Illuminations. Our server was great. He spaced out the meal wonderfully so that dessert came just at the end of Illuminations. The only meal where service was less than great was Tony's. I really don't think the dining plan was an issue either. Our server was attentive enough, but seemed less than thrilled with his job. He was not a friendly guy. He seemed to have the same attitude with the other tables around us. Again, he didn't ignore us, but he didn't seem to enjoy his job either. I really can't think of any meal where we felt that our servers were giving us any less attention due to the dining plan.
We had a great experience using the dining plan. It was very convienent and all of our serves were great in explaining what could and could not be ordered on the plan.

We had no issues with consistency or service due to the DDP. THe only issue service wise we had were waiters that had an attitude problem and believe me, they had it with all their tables - DDP or not.
