Hi Wendy
Also joining in (a little late) Pics and story telling are great so far!! Looks like so much fun. Can't wait to read more!

Saturday, May 9th

Today we headed to Epcot for the morning! We were planning on covering Future World, having lunch at Beaches and Cream and then miniture golf at Fantasia Gardens. Our plans changed when it was 95 degrees and way too hot for putt putt! So here is what we did!

We walked to the TTC and took the Monorail to Epcot, arriving about 9:30am.

The crowds we light and so we headed straight to the Land for our Soarin' FP and rider swap.

Our return time was 1:15pm so we rode Living with the Land (no wait), left the Land and rode Figment (no wait)
2492.jpg

Seas with Nemo & Friends (no wait) and saw Turtle Talk with Crush! This was the first time Emily sat up front with the other kiddos and it was a teary moment for Mike and I. Our little girl is so grown up! We walked around and saw all of the fish swimming around. Mike LOVES fish and has a 250 gallon saltwater tank in the wall of our den! He could spend forever in the Living Seas!

After our underwater adventures with Nemo, we went to see the characters! The line was long, but moved pretty quickly. I think we waited about 15 minutes so see these friends!

At this point it was about 12:30pm so we went back to the Land and had some lunch! Mike and I both had the Black Forest Ham and Salami Grinder and it was delicious as always! We've had this sandwich on previous Disney ventures and we have never been disappointed!
163.jpg

As you can see, I had the Strawberry Shortcake. It was light and fluffy with fresh strawberries. I could eat this all day long!

Mike had the Chocolate Moose Dome and he said it was too rich and not very good.

Overall, we like Sunshine Seasons because of the variety of choices they offer. We wouldn't go out of our way to eat there, but for CS, it is good. We rate it :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

After out tummies were full, it was time to Soar! Mike rode 1st while Emily and I waited, then it was my turn! I love this ride, it's so relaxing and I just feel so peaceful cruising over California!

Once we finished Soarin' we headed to the other side of Future World ano along the way, we ran into these guys:

Then we stopped at the fountain for some more pictures:

Mike headed to Mission Space (10 min wait) while Emily and I shopped at Mouse Gears:

Ellen's Universe of Energy wasn't running and we've been on Test Track enough to know it's not worth waiting even the 10 minutes for, so we headed to:
2572.jpg

2582.jpg

There was no wait. We LOVE this ride, escpecially when you get to the top..."On this, our Spaceship Earth"! Although, it was more dramatic with the old narrator, but I don't mind the changes!

Anyway, at this point we were ready for the pool and nap time so we hit the Monorail back to the Poly!

TIP: I think Future World is the best place to be when it is scorching hot outside because all of the attractions are indoors and so are the lines!

Up Next: Spirit of Aloha show!

Great update! We were going to Mini golf at some point on our trip too but it was just too hot! We never made it to Beaches and Cream either.

I miss the old narrator on spaceship earth!

I had the strawberry shortcake at Seasons during this past trip...Yummo! Great update...when you've been on a real test track, Test Track the ride is big disappointment totally agree on your assessment. :thumbsup2

The day we were at Epcot it was really hot too, but there are so many things to do inside that it was very doable!!!!

I loved Turtle talk with Crush, it was so funny!

Great update and lovely pictures! My husband could spend forever in the Living Seas too! Does your husband scuba dive? If he does, he should look into doing Dive Quest! My husband has done it twice, and it is ALWAYS a highlight for him! He loves diving in the tank with the sharks, rays, and turtles! He didn't do it this time and I think he sorely missed it.

Looking forward to the Luau! :goodvibes

I love the strawberry short cake there too. I had it last year and it was fantastic.

I love the little dress Emily has on, that color is so pretty. You have some really good pictures of her with the characters.

Next time Beaches and Cream is a MUST DO!! Mike wants to order the Kitchen Sink just because he feels like he has to!

What a great update.....can't wait for more :)

More is on it's way!!

Test Track was fun the 1st time and I'm sure we'll take Emily on it when she is tall enough, but it's never a must do for us!

The day we were at Epcot it was really hot too, but there are so many things to do inside that it was very doable!!!!

I loved Turtle talk with Crush, it was so funny!

We loved TT too! Did you get to Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor at MK? That show is hilarious!

He doesn't scuba, but I'm sure he would love to do that one day! I'd love to see him squeeze his gut into a wet suit!!:rotfl2:

Thanks! Emily's eyes look soooo blue when she wears blues and aqua! She loved the characters this year, which brought tears to my eyes everytime she hugged one of them!:lovestruc

Emily is so cute. I love how she just goes all in for the hug with the characters. I like the picture of her on the bus with the pop and the pink mickey hat- too cute!

Really Enjoying your TR! Looking forward to hearing more.

We have never really stopped for Character Meets so this upcoming trip we are going to try to stop for more. This will be our third trip and we are trying to focus more on relaxing, enjoying, and doing things we have not done yet!

Emily is going to make a fine photographer. Your steaks looked great! They made me very hungry. You only had to wait 15 minutes to see Mickey and Pals?! That is great. We never made it on our last trip, the line was always WAY too long.

That strawberry shortcake looks yummy! I really like sunshine seasons but we didn't get to eat there this time. We mainly stayed at Electric Umbrella.

Emily is just so cute! She just loves to pose for the camera. It looks like ya'll had fun at Epcot!

We didn't even make it to the parks that day! I think we were just too tired from traveling.:confused3

I am so jealous of all the cute character pics. Cayley was not so into them-especially Tigger. Avery sould also spend hours at the Seas. We used to have a tank. The girls also had the shortcake and gave it 2 thumbs up!

So, we had a couple of hours to kill before the Spirit of Aloha show so we went right for the pool!

We were getting close to our ressie time so we headed back to the room to change for the SoA show. On the way to Luau Cove, the sun was setting:

We arrived at Luau Cove took some pictures while we waited to be seated:

We were seated pretty quickly and the Tropical Mixed Greens with Mango Poppy Seed Dressing, Pineapple-coconut Bread and Sweet Golden Pineapple was already at our table.

Our waitress came and took our drink order and soon after the Island Barbecued Pork Ribs, Lanai Roasted Chicken, Polynesian Rice and Fresh Seasonal Vegetables were delivered to the table:

As we were eating away, the show began. Like many have said here on the DIS, the beginning is pretty cheezy, but it gets better when the hula dancing and fire dancer do their thing! The beginning has some audience participation and here is Emily doing the hula! She loved this and still hulas around the house with her lei on! It's soo cute!

As the show was letting out, Wishes started so we found a comfy spot on the beach to watch the show:

This was a wonderful dinner and I'm happy we did it. The food was so good! I loved the rice, salad, veggies, chicken...well, all of it! I'm not a fan of ribs or coconut so I was a little skeptical about eating those, but I'm so glad I tried them...YUM! The chicken and ribs were tender, juicy and a little sweet. The bread was AWESOME and I could eat that rice all night long!! The dessert was good, not great. It was chocolaty and rich. Emily really enjoyed watching the dancing and like I said, still hula dances around the house and asks if we can see the fire dancers again. We would go see this show again, but only after we see the other dinner shows Disney has to offer! We rate the SoA show :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 and the SoA dinner :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2!!

Up Next: Day 4 - May 10, 2009 Our Anniversary and Mother's Day!!!

Hey Wendy!
Emily looks so sleepy at the SOA!! It is too cute. I love the picture and the one of her and Mike actually brought tears to my eyes!!! Too cute!

I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the Spirit of Aloha dinner show. We have reservations for our August trip and it's our first time to see it.

By the way, I absolutely love the picture of your daughter and husband on the beach. That's definitely an AWWW! picture.

that looks SO cool! I wonder if I could get Eric to go to that for our anniversary? Emily's dress looks amazing on her!

I love your sunset at the Poly picture. It's beautiful! The show and meal looks really great! I would love to see that the next time we go! It's definitely on the list! :thumbsup2
