Looking for a resort (not Disney) that offers poolside activities and music/DJ. Star Island offers these things but we've stayed there many times and are looking to try something new. IS their anything out there that will offer these things?

Sheraton Vistana does. Poolside DJ's, karaoke, or live performers (the latter which is usually outside one of the bars adjacent to the pool) . There are 3 main pools, so the location can vary from day to day (or night to night) but you can usually find somewhere to swim and jam :rockband:.

Tons of activities are offered poolside every day. Family game show sessions, the weekly Vacation Celebration, dive in movies, Gatorland visits, tie dye tshirt making, etc. Their FUN Team us super active and always has something going on for families (and a few adult only activities a as well). You'll receive s two page schedule for the week at check in that lists the time an location for each activity.

Thank you Gina- is this the one located on 535?

Thanks for the info. I am considering Vistana this year for the first time. @Gina-Gina-Bo-Bina I know you stay there often. I was going to look up your threads and read up on your past trip reports. You are always so awesome with your detailed descriptions. When I thought about staying there, you were the first to come to my mind that I could ask for tips and advice. I am so glad to hear they have this much to do at the resort. This puts them higher up on the list to try this year. Also, my employer offered a FANTASTIC 14 day SEAWORLD unlimited ticket price. It covered SeaWorld, Aquatica, BuschGardens and Adventure Island. 14 days unlimited visits and included parking for less than $150. Based on your reviews and the low price we gave it a try. It was our first time going to Seaworld parks and it was AWESOME. We didnt get to do enough in those 14 days so we are considering visiting again this year.

Tamara, I think you will fall in love with SVR. It's a wonderful resort with so many fun things to do. Have you found the Sheraton Vistana Resort thread here on the boards? If not, let me know and I'll link it here so you can join in.....it's full of great information for first-time guests.

I'm thrilled you loved your visits to the SeaWorld parks! They are such great value and good fun!

WOW! What an incredible deal you got through your employer! Did you happen to do a trip report? Did you try out the All Day Dining deal at any of the parks?

Any idea on how to get the best deal? website recommendations?

Skyauction can be a source of great rates, depending on your dates. Mousesavers sometimes has good offers as well. You can also rent from an owner.....the TUG marketplace often has listings for SVR.

Unfortunately, I did not do a trip report. We didn't do the all day dining. In fact, we never had a full meal at Seaworld come to think of it. My DD12 loves rollercoasters and she didn't want to eat heavy before or after riding. So we kind of had to do some strategic coordination of park time and meal time. And honestly, until I saw your post, I never thought about us not eating full meals at the park. We had every intention of eating at their buffet once, but settled on sharing some chicken tenders and fries instead. It was EXTREMELY hot out and that with a heavy meal and rollercoasters did not seem like a good idea. :sad2:
