Can anyone tell me if there is a lap pool in any of the health clubs. We are staying at BVC and i do not mean a recreational pool like Stormalong Bay. I have a daughter who is a competitive swimmer. She is concerned that a week away from her swim team will get her out of shape.
Thanks.....Mike

I don't think that any of the Disney heath clubs have pools.

The beach club has a small "quiet" pool that she could probably use as a lap pool (especially if she goes early in the morning when it is less likely to have people in there).

The only resorts that I can think of that have lap pools are the Swan & Dolphin.

Please remember that these resorts are not Disney owned or Disney run. The pools at the Swan & Dolphin are for the exclusive use of the guests at these resort.

I have seen people swimming laps at the quiet pool at BC and at BCV. They usually swim in the early morning or at night. I would think the length of the pools would work for her.

The Swan has a lap pool. If you click on the link at the top of the page, and then go under "play", you can see a 360 degree picture of it.

But you have to be a guest of the Swan or Dolphin to use that pool.

Yes. The Swan and Dolphin are not Disney owned resorts.

She can swim against the current in the SAB "river" section, and believe me that will be more workout than any lap pool. If she goes early she should have it to herself. It is 8 feet deep also.

Can you swim there for a fee? If that fails Can one just wander in?
Thanks

You can only swim at your own resort. Unless you are a DVC member staying on points. Then you can swim at any Disney owned and operated resort except for YC/BC/BCV (unless that is the resort you are staying at) and AKL. Renters are not entitled to this privilege.

Also, you need to check with the Lifeguard or other person in charge of the pool prior to swimming at a non-home resort to see if it is too crowded for non-guests to swim.

No and no. Sorry. The advice about using the quiet pools at the BC or BCV in the early morning is sage, there is seldom anyone else there.

I like the "current" pool, and I would have suggested she swim against the
current for a workout, too. But the Villas quiet pool might be a good lap
pool for her.

It's not really long enough for a true lap pool... Maybe 10-15 meters (back in the day on my swim team the pools were measured in yards).

** Edit ** I'm referring to the Quiet Pool at Beach Club. D'oh.

Now our friends are staying at a different resort than us and I was wondering if both of our kids could spend time during the afternoon or evening at each other's pool??? And how are they going to know that you're not staying at the resort?

They will check resort ID's at the pool and unless you have DVCmember on your resort ID you will not be able to swim there.

Really, the last time we were at the Contemporary, they didn't check???

I do know for a fact that there is a cast member at the entrance into Stormalong Bay (at Beach Club) who checks resort cards for anybody trying to enter that pool area. I don't recall any cast members at the smaller pool (Quiet Pool at BC, or pretty much any other resort pool I've stayed at) ever checking ID though.

We sent my dad and his fiace to the world 2 weeks ago on our points and when they went hopping to WL they were asked for resort ID. now because the room key said dvc member on it they were fine but others were turned away.
