Pools?????????

Your key will only work at your hotel. There is no pool hopping allowed.

That's not correct, I've seen people post that they are allowed to use the other pools, they show their key to the CMat that homeland they let them swim.

That's only if their hotel pool is under construction.

Actually it is correct, very correct. If one of the other Disney pools is under construction you can use an alternate pool, they have always been very strict when we have been staying there. Have fun.

We were told we could pool hop when we were there in August. All pools were fine. We were at the pph.

You lucked out then because your key did not fit the gates, so must have gotten in another way.

They are quite strict on the pool hopping. If a pool is under construction, then they will allow you to use the other pools. But if not, they will not allow pool hopping.

Did you as a guest of the PPH actually go to the pools at either DLH or GC and use your key and it opened the gate for you to enter the pool area? If you did then I am shocked. If you were just told you could do this but didn't try it I'm just dissapointed guests of any of the 3 DLR hotels continue to be given wrong information.

It was about 2 years ago that we were at PPH and the pool was closed for maintenance. We used the GCH pool. Have never tried on any other trip.

Yep. But it was because of the pool being closed.

We stayed at PPH in September, my husband asked me if we could use the DLH pool and I said no - but he tried his card and it opened the gates at the monorail pool so he and one of our daughters spent the afternoon there. No construction on PPH pool at the time (not the pool itself, although the
snack bar area was closed for renovation - maybe that's why it worked?)

I see the OP has yet to return to give us more details.

Just for kicks, those of us who frequent the DLR hotels should try our keys at the others. I've been told both answers by CMs, but if you call and ask the hotels the answer is NO hopping. ...and yet there are always people that have done it. Hmmmm. ;)

I tried PP key on the GC pool in the past, and it did not work. At the TIME, I thought hopping was allowed.

We got permission to hop at GC, one day, because we were on a MAW trip, staying at PP. But I had to call for special permission, and they left keys for us to pick up at Concierge desk to get into the GC pool that day.

This is not to the OP but is a general statement on this subject.

This question is coming up more and more lately because WDW folks are coming to DL now to visit CL. With the variety of resort categories and pool types/theming at WDW it is a much bigger issue to people. Many staying offsite or at a value resort want to experience one of the themed, deluxe pools. This topic is a VERY, VERY big bone of contention on the WDW board and has been for years. The threads get very long and heated until they are shut down by a moderator. Some newbies ask the question in all honesty and others want to find out how/if they can circumvent the system (or just stir the pot).

There is never, ever an agreement on the WDW board since people still argue whether it's allowed there - even though some resorts (Stormalong Bay at the Yacht and Beach club is number one) are fenced, gated, require a key card and there is a CM requiring proof that each guest is staying at that resort. There are always some who cite a CM who said it was okay. Then others post photos of the signage that strictly forbids pool hopping.

I'm afraid we are going to find there will be no real agreement on this board either.

It's not supposed to be done but there will always be someone who managed it somehow.

Like Rhonna stated " There are signs stating it is not allowed" but there will always be people trying to beat the system, ALWAYS. I stay at the Grand, want to swim in the pools and then I go down to find all the the lounges full.
I would guess to say when the CM's did a sweep last summer, 1/4 of the people there were from other hotels. I want to see Disney do this more....
I pay the rate they should also.

I agree, we've been there when you can hardly find a place to put a towel, let alone get a chair.
