Can anyone tell me about offsite hotels/resorts with pools that have slides? My DD is almost6, but short for her age. She is only 43 inches tall. We were interested in renting from Windsor Hills until we found out there is a 48 inch height requirement for the slide, so that's out. Does anyone know some of the height requirements for the slides at various places?

It might have been the same at Bonnet Creek. The slide shoots out into almost 4 foot water. My DD8 went on it a few times but she can swim ... even so, she was having some difficulty swimming away from the bottom before the next person came. Adults could not "catch" at the bottom. My DD6 is 48 inches but not a good swimmer so she didn't try. I did see the lifeguards pull a youngster (maybe 4) out of the line.

I guess the question is not what the height requirment is, but how deep the water is at the bottom.

My DD6 really loved the lazy river though, and they had a zero-depth entry pool as well.

Marriott Horizons has two great pools. One has a large slide that would be too big for your daughter. My son was just tall enough to get on but was too short to stand in the water where it let out. I caught him a few times but it was very fast and tough to catch him. The other pool is perfect for younger kids! It is pirate themed with a large pirate ship and many water squirters and slides coming off the pirate ship. Slides land in about 12-18 inches of water. It was perfect for my 4 year old (40") and almost 6 year old (45"). 10 year old enjoyed it too! There is also a large area with spraying water things that was a lot of fun as well.

We're usually at Liki Tiki every year, but this year we found out about that ship in the pool over at Horizons Marriot and we are booked to stay there this October. My nephews (3, 4 and 7) cannot wait to try it out!!! :goodvibes

Liki Tiki is a timeshare place but we just booked it the same as you would a hotel through the islandone site. There was no timeshare presentation required. The next morning after we got there someone called to invite us to a free breakfast (presentation in disguise) and we said "no thankyou" and no one called again. They sometimes call and leave a message about what is going on around the pool for the day but that's all. If you do want to stay ask for rooms in the upper numbered buildings like 1200, it's newer.
