Hi Pat (and Marv), I guess I never posted on your TR, or maybe only on the verrrrry beginning. I don't have much time for disboards and commenting does take some time for me and there is another TR writer who demands my contributions… But I wanted to let you know I'm reading along and your trip sounds great so far! I somehow missed the info about the new frozen fireworks - looks like fun though!

Katharina, glad you made it over. I totally understand the lack of time. Work is nuts and when I am home I am busy catching up here and trying to get all the things that need my attention done.

The new Frozen fireworks started as a summer promotion that was extended into fall at DHS. It was a cute little show and I am not sure if it will come back again this summer or ever but it is nice to have Fireworks at DHS.

Pool time looked great. As did the interior decorating curriculum of the bathroom designer.

Never tried Cosmic Cafe. Probably should one of these days... Looks decent enough.

The new Frozen fireworks started as a summer promotion that was extended into fall at DHS. It was a cute little show and I am not sure if it will come back again this summer or ever but it is nice to have Fireworks at DHS.

I guess knowing that I won't be back for some time made me a little unpercecptive of some changes...

I was a pleasantly surprised by Cosmic Ray's. Pool time is ALWAYS good ....unless it the pool you work at then ...not so much.

I get that the choices were very limited at VWL but obviously not ANY thought went into it during the design phase.

As for the storm... A pool girl and a weather app and I am all about not getting wet.

At 50 feet away!!!!!! Now I may need to watch again but when they Monkey out is really the only time I think it is him... The video didn't show him moving around enough.

Ok, I found the sneaky update!! Funny how none of us readers complained. I remember wondering about it for a second, but somehow just accepted that you never wrote about checking in at the WL...

Great picture of Marv!! I hope he looked equally excited when he was on the real one and not just in the cardboard cutout one!

There is little about summer at WDW that makes me want to go there...

Nearly as good as the fake 7DMT one!

What did I think? I think it is a great kiddie coaster for Fantasyland. Think Barnstormer. Do I wish it was longer? Absolutely but given the land they had to work with and that it was a late addition to the plans, the imagineers did a nice job.

I was surprised how much I liked it. I think it is considerably better than the Barnstormer!

There are rumours that it was originally supposed to be longer and have more show scenes, but things got cut from it. And not for space or technical issues either unfortunately. Which is a bit sad.

This must be the side effect of the 7DMT. Everything else is a walk on.

Ok, I don't understand why some of my little snipets are quoted with formatting and other not... Odd.

But what I wanted to say: Yes, I noticed this in December as well. Seems like the long long line at Little Mermaid is kind of superfluous now.

Who were our princesses today – None other than Anna and Elsa.

I still haven't seen that movie... On our upcoming Norway cruise we could go on an excursion in one of the ports and celebrate a village fair with Anna and Elsa -for the low price of 350 $ per person...

Where was lunch? None other than Beast’s Place.

We shared the roast beef because it is a big enough portion and has nothing I can’t have.

Well, I kind of swore off that restaurant after my first experience there. But that sandwich looks delicious!!

I am pretty sure we were in the visible lightning stage but no rain yet. Captain confirmed we will need to wait for an enclosed boat because of the proximity.

I would have been cool with not being in an open boat under these circumstances as well!

We dock and I head up to the Front desk to check about the room and they tell me a text was sent at 11:15… it was close to 3pm now.

Um well if it was sent it did not get to my phone. Ugh the blacklist continues.

Sorry, maybe you should get a new phone number??? But maybe you will feel less mistreated when I tell you that I don't get texts either: Disney doesn't send them to international phone numbers...

Hard to really tell but it was pouring. The best part – not on me. Or Marv, I hoped.

US 1 RAIN 0.

I had gotten a text from Marv saying he was looking for a place to park and waiting for the rain to least let up before attempting to run for it. He was for the moment safe and dry in the car.

Since the rain managed to trap poor Marv, I think the score would more be YOU 1.5 RAIN 0.5. But Marv gets bonus points for being a gentleman and parking the car!

Once we get over the shock of the surprise tollbooth, I fall back on my survival techniques of days gone by, the time when I started driving and ended up at the surprise tollbooths and my first car that actually had coin holders in the console, that I felt the need to always keep full, just in case and remember that I have a stash of quarters in a little hidden holder on the left side of the driver on the lower side of the dashboard. Marv is driving, so I make him aware of my emergency toll money, and he throws the 4 quarters in the basket, does NOT miss, and we are able to pass through.

You were really lucky that you were there in your own car. In a rental car this whole thing might have had a less good ending!!

The weather had cleared. This was about 7pm. How I long for the long days of summer again.

Ah, lovely blue sky!! Those summer evenings are one of the few things I would love about WDW in the summer!!

And I agree with you, it is time for the days to become longer again!

A stand by time of… 65 min um NO - Guess it is just FP+ today.

From everything I've read, that ride seems to be FP+ or bust.

I know it is kind of early for a cake cup but the last time I tried they were out.

I was in position to pinch the Prince with no pants but for the picture I refrained.

Luckily I am a NY girl and some habits die hard with me. In NY we have toll booths often. You ever find yourself in Jersey and want to get home, you need to pay a toll.

Glad you scrolled back. I have lobby and room pictures that didn't fit so I may still stick them in later. While we are restricted to 25 images I do not think the smilies count towards that anymore.

I actually think he was more excited there- a bit underwhelmed at at the ride.

It can be quite brutal, but somehow I keep going during that time. This year a birthday trip during the summer.

I find lunch a nice experience. Except when I have to hunt down sauce in little trays but overall good food, I can choose where I sit and food comes quickly.

The last one I remember getting is the one from OKW that came BEFORE I even got on property. I was on I-4 and about 20 minutes away and I got a text saying my room was ready. That jinxed me from then on, I always get the test text but nothing else.

Yes Marv got trapped but he was dry. We have both had the downpours where you just can't wait it out anymore because you need to get somewhere or are not near somewhere to duck in.

I don't keep any change in my park bag, that could have been a big problem. What would you do? We couldn't back down the ramp, and I am sure there are cameras to catch my licence plate to fine my car for blowing through.

I am sorry you had an emergency situation to encounter that but the NY metro area is full of those little booths demanding money to pass. Probably why when I was little I called them troll booths.



As for room texts.... I used to always get them, always, then I had the way early one before I even made it on property then nothing. I knew when I said out loud that I always get them this would happen.

I am still holding out hope. My number is in my profile and I always get the test text. I hope they resume but I know to also check when I don't get one in a reasonable amount of time.

We headed for BTMRR to check wait time. Maybe the app was not cooperating?

Our BTMRR FP+ was open so we walked back.

We walked by what is now the Olde Yankee peddler or whatever it was called. I remember it as the Smucker’s shop. It is now Madame Leota’s.

We hopped in line for IASW and found the most bored CM ever. It was a quick pic so pardon the blurriness.

I really need to learn how to take pictures here. Everything is so new I am not used to where I have light and where I don’t.

A spin on Dumbo was next.

A warning in the bathroom.

We sat behind the castle to watch the fireworks. We were near the mine train and maybe teacups.

We needed to open a Sorcerer’s portal before we could get cards for the day but the portal we needed to open was in the Fantasyland and that was closed off due to the fireworks. We went over as soon as we could.

We then visited the kiosk in Liberty square and it was already closed for the night. Boo. Just like trying to get a drink in EPCOT after Illuminations.

We kept walking and either took the boat or a bus back to VWL. Being I have no pictures it probably was a bus. We need a bus smilie.




As you can see by my ticker I will be heading down at the end of the week. We got ice yesterday so we had an ice day today. Now they say snow again tomorrow and then the deep freeze. Let's hope we can get out of here.

I realized I forgot a whole a day !!!!! I will blame the new DIS for the confusion. So. While I was testing things out I had 2 posts that I could use so I stuck the whole day in there.

Just like you I wanted to just get a little more posted before I leave.

I am now relying on the Unwatched Thread page to keep me up to date. I am getting emails but since I go right to the first unread post, I can pick up where I left off pretty easily.

I always have to snap a few no matter where we stop to watch .

It started as a bit of a joke to go down for the PHM as, like you I was going to "take a break" and let my points load back up. But I already have 3 trips planned and need to squeeze 1 more in for Food and Wine.

Plus my conference is in Palm Springs so maybe a stop by DL for the 60th is in order.
