My brothers family is going to be camping on Disney property. My mom and I will be there with my two sons around the same time. Can I invite my brother's family to our villa and use the pool (AKV) with them? And then, the next night - are we allowed to visit the camp ground, use the pool, and attend the bonfire?

1) no - unless you have enough room on the AKV reservation to list your brother's family as occupants of the villa, they are not permitted to pool hop.

2) if you are DVC members and pool hopping is not blacked out during that period, you would be permitted to visit the ft wilderness campground pool (assuming it is not at capacity.) if you are not DVC members, then no, pool hopping is never officially permitted.

there is a sticky on the resorts board about pool hopping that might be helpful. here's a link to it.

No one - not even DVC Members are ever allowed to pool hop to AKL/AKV, BLT, BC/YC/SAB.

Only REGISTERERD guests of those resorts are allowed to use the pools there.

According to DVC pool hopping is not allowed at AKL or BCV period. Please log into the DVC website or read the DisneyFiles for this information.

If you are going to ask, please ask the lifeguards, the Front Desk has no idea if the pool is crowded.

Also if you are a member please realize that as members if we do not adhere to the rules set forth, do not be surprised if they are taken away.

Personally I am in favor of no pooling hopping at all.

Not at AKV/AKL. The pools are smaller and they just don't have the space for extra people. The OP can hop over to the Campground pool if it is not crowded as long as pool hopping is not blacked out AND they are members staying on points at AKV.

to summarize that sticky thread which i linked above:

1) disney policy is that pools are for that resort's registered guests only, except for DVC owners in certain situations

2) if the pools aren't at capacity, exceptions to policy are sometimes made based on the judgment of the lifeguards on duty

that's pretty much all the OP needs to know...

Of course Disney does have signs at all the pool that state use for resort guests only. Just becasue a CM lets someone break the rules does not mean that is Disney policy.
