Am i crazy or wouldn't the adult pool make a better family pool since it is bigger and is almost empty the whole time? I was really dissapointed in the family pool. Especially those of us with teens who are too big for the Mickey pool. Maybe even if they just had a time for the teens to swim in the adult pool. Just wondering if I was alone in feeling like this?

I've been on three Disney Cruises and I really enjoyed the size and location of the Adult pool. It has never been overly crowded while we were there, but that just made it nicer. I think it would be a shame to get rid of it, or switch it to the Family pool. It is too nice there near that Spa with the bar right next to it, etc..

Of course, I didn't have children on any of our three crusies so I didn't have to worry about the other pools :) I just enjoyed the one that was created for adults :)

I would be willing to bet that most of the cruisers have children...of course since I have not cruised Disney I could be WAY off. Seems to me, from what I read, the adult only pool is going to waste.

We have enjoyed the adult only pool 3 times and can't wait for #4. On our last trip we couldn't find a seat around the pool after 10 AM. It is the only adult only outsdside place on the ship. Sure, most times there are not a bunch of people screaming and jumping around but that doesn't mean it's being wasted. Most of the time the adults just hang on to the edge and talk.
There has always been a lot of children on the cruises we went on but there are a lot of childless couples as well.
I can just see the CMs coming around and telling all the adults that they must leave the pool area and let teens in. Oh Yeah!

I enjoyed the adult pool when my daughter begged to go to the kids club. It was nice to relax at a pool without all the splashing going on.

My husband and I will be cruising for the first time this fall and the one reason that made me want to go on the Disney cruise is tha fact that they have adult only areas. It is not that we don't like kids it is just nice to be able to get away and have a place with just adults.

My point wasn't to not have an adult only pool it just seems silly that the adult pool is so much larger than the family pool. Also there really is no place for teens to swim and I think that is not fair to them. My kids didn't go in the kids club so I was never able to go to the adult pool.

we were on the 3/23 cruise, and the the adult pool was always crowded. the only way we got lounges was when someone was leaving, and they would offer them to us. people were getting up at 7:00 a.m. and earlier, leaving their stuff on lounges to "reserve" them. it was pretty much dog eat dog, and i'll bet it was even worse at the other pools. its bad on the lst two days at sea, because folks just want to lay in the sun and get tanned. all of the pools are small because they have to be: people could get hurt sloshing around in a large pool in bad weather. terp, we saw some older teens at the adult area, and no one said anything. as long as they are well-behaved, i do not think anyone would complain, especially if they are older teens. there are some lounges on deck 10 above the adult pool area that we had better luck being able to use. and its not really a secret area anymore, but there is a small area at the end of deck 7 that has a few lounges and chairs.

Besides....I was on the 04/06 Magic recently. One day my wife took the 2 girls up to the kids (Mickey's) pool to swim. A few minues later I went up to meet them and found them in the lounge chairs with the pool empied. Seems as though some kid had deposited a "bomb" (poop) in the pool so they cleared it out for cleaning. Also found out from someone in the medical facility on board that they clean the kids pool about 5 times a day because of "deposits". I think the adults should retain the right to their pool so they don't have to go through these disruptions.

Indeed!! On my last Magic cruise 9/01 they had to empty the Mickey pool 2x that week due to vomit. I thought it was a blessing that they emptied it and put fresh water in it. Who knows whats in it that goes unnoticed (LOL).
