Hello Everyone,

Forgive my ignorance but what exactly is a Pool Noodle and pics would be great also.
The reason for asking is that we will be at BWV and Vwl and like to spend lots of time with the kids at the pool.

A pool noodle is a poly foam type tube that floats in the water. They come in lots of colors and can be used in lots of ways to stay afloat. Kids can use it like a horse, or sit on it like a swing, or the standard holding it under your arms.

Now pertaining to WDW resorts, I do not know what their policy is on bringing your own floatation toys.

Last year we stayed at Beach Club Villas and used Storm-A-Long Bay.

If my memory is correct, you can use flotation devices. In fact, at SAB they were renting tubes for the lazy river.

I have pictures of my kids in SAB and there are a couple photo's showing them using their noodles. Have fun! :Pinkbounc :bounce:

The last time I was at SAB they were actually selling noodles where they rent the tubes. Noodles are great, and they hold adults as well as kids.

At BWV community hall, members can "rent" noodles for free. Just take your room key and they sign them out on a sheet, then you return them when you are done. You can also get life vests and keep them until you check out rather than turning them in each day if you like. We did this several times during our May trip and even took the items over to use in the main pool with no problems.

Our 4-year-old neice wanted to try the clown slide, but isn't quite a strong enough swimmer to get herself out of the way at the bottom quickly. I asked a lifeguard, and they let her go down with a vest on, no problem. She love it - we lost count at 25 times!

We always buy two at our grocery stop for a week at at one of the villas......when it is time to go (sniff sniff) the kids go around the pool to find another child who is just starting their trip and hands them off to them. We tried to leave them at community hall once so other could use them but the CM said they don't keep them and throw them away when left behind. (this was at OKW) That is why we look for someone to give them to. A few times we got looks like why are you talking to my kid or why would you do this.....see you can tell they are just starting the vacation and disney magic isn't expected yet!!!

Steven Kay, thank goodness that you are home with your family and thinking about silly stuff like pool noodles and not how to stay safe! So glad to see you posting here and have a WONDERFUL time at WDW!

Is anyone familiar with an Aqua Bendy?

It is the shape of a cylinder, just like a pool noodle, but it is inflatable, thus easy to pack in a suitcase.

I purchased a few for $.99 several years ago at Kmart. I wish I had bought more. We love these things, but have been unable to buy them again. I check every local store each pool season.

I would love to buy more. I worry about them wearing out. Last year at OKW someone wanted to buy mine for $5.00, but no way was I parting with mine. It seems like these would be hot-sellers.

We purchased a noodle during our last visit and it fit into our large duffle bag to transport home.

We have the LL Bean large rolling duffle bags as luggage and it fit fine by bending and lining the bottom of the bag.

Just an FYI!

but they make great boosters for under the carseat as well. Just cut off a chunk with a serrated knife and use it instead of the rolled up towel you have under there. ;)

I'm not sure it is appropriate to go flashing around pictures of one's pool noodle...:teeth:
