I completely understand the idea of doing a "pool sweep", but I'd have some trouble with the idea of pool-hopper profiling (making sure people "look" to belong there). I am no fashion plate and have been known to swim at a pool (including at Disney) in a t-shirt and what might appear to be shorts. (Hey, I'm larger than Pooh and heaven knows no one wants to see this body in most men's swimwear. The more covered up -- the better!
) I sometimes wear a t-shirt at the pool because I go from pasty white to lobster red even with SPF 500 on.
Also I'm not sure how much guests would like being "carded" by the pool patrol -- sort of like "prove you belong here". I think that might cause some resentment among those who really do belong (and I think that's the large majority of people).
Same with questioning people getting off a resort bus or monorail. How welcoming is that? I've seen kids in parks in swimwear or what looks to be swimwear. That doesn't mean they are planning to sneak into the Poly pool between rides on Space Mountain and the Haunted Mansion.
I try to understand the concerns about pool-hoppers, but I've never experienced a problem at Disney pools, so it's hard for me to really appreciate that there is a major problem. I just think these "solutions" would create a less than magical atmosphere at the pools for every guest, including those who really do "belong" there.
