There's a difference between being in charge of managing the safe swimmer-to-guard ratio and maximum bather load, and managing who is entitled to swim in the pool... Even every resort guest that's entitled to swim at the pool cannot all swim at once based on safety limitations.Absolutely not the case! The LIFEGUARDS have the ULTIMATE responsibility for the pools. The pools are staffed based on anticipated/historic bathing loads, part of which are based on hotel capacity at the time. The front desk has absolutely NO control over who can or can not swim at the pools. That is 100% up to the life guards.
I also based my statement on the advice given to DVC members (who per the sign, I might add, appear to not be able to swim at GF) to call the hotel desk of a desired "pool hopping" prospect resort to see if it's OK before you head on over. I don't think the front desk transfers you down the lifeguards for the "OK", our puts you on hold while they check with the lifegaurds. Do they? I don't know, we've never pool hopped. I gotta believe that the resort front desk has a pretty good handle on how busy the resort's assets are and I'd also guess that the pool lifeguards report in some manner up to the resort manager and that the same resort manager also has responsibility as to what transpires at the resort's pool.
I'm not advocating that resort guests pool-hop. I feel just the opposite. But if the hotel manager gives persmission and the lifeguards on-duty don't view it as compromising the safety of other bathers, then I don't see a problem with it... I don't see how someone from the All-Stars being given permission to swim at the GF is any more or less "taking prime rib" from someone that's coughed up the $$$ to stay at the GF then I would be doing the same as a member of the DVC???

(LOL)
