Curious which ones are off limits?

And because I know that this perplexes some people-my reasons are we have been kicking around buying into a DVC for awhile and have been trying to stay at different resorts to get a feel at which ones would be right for us. But going and having lunch and hanging at the pool is also a nice way to check out the resort too. And also 9 year olds have insatiable cravings for new pool sides;)

Can't PH to any AKL/AKV, BLT or BC pools. Some lists also exclude the YC quiet pools but some don't. Must be staying on points as the OWNER to do so. Black out times for usual busier times like holidays. Subject to capacity with the requirement to check ahead of time at the front desk of the destination resort for permission.

Thank you for the info and especially the call ahead part:thumbsup2 Not looking to do anything that isn't allowed, just trying to really get a feel for the resorts. :)

If you're not a current member you're not legally allowed to use this option, you mentioned you were looking to buy.

Plus if you are renting a reservation from a member, you are not entitled to pool hop. It's a member perk, except guests staying with the member may be included.

It's not a member perk for anytime you are visiting. You must be staying on points at a DVC resort in FL in order to pool hop. So if you get a monster pin from Disney and decide to stay at the GF, you cannot pool hop to the Polynesian.

Wow-I didn't know any of that. Last time we rented the owner actually told us it would be no problem, and we were not questioned:confused3

Well now I know the correct answer-thank you for setting me straight :) I would not want to do something that wasn't allowed and would be mortified if we were asked to leave

Even though when you rent, your KTTW card may have "DVC" on it (as you've rented from a Member), to pool hop (once you are a Member), you should always have your blue Member card with you. They frequently check - especially during peak times, and if you don't have one - you are out. We've seen this happen at AKL/AKV twice now, and they are not exactly discreet about "asking" offenders to leave. Don't let that be you!

I recently stay at AKL (not in DVC)..and no one at ant time ask to see even room keys at either resort pool...is that uncommon? We were there for 5 days in Jambo house

AKL/AKV isn't even open to pool hopping. Those were pool usurpers.

When staying on points at Kidani/AKV as a member is it acceptable to use the pool over at the main Jambo lodge?
