On Sunday DH, DS and I went to stormalong bay. We had been on Friday and Thursday and had not gotten wristbands, but Sunday we got one. DH is a friendly guy, so he said "do you get a lot of those pool hoppers?" (he hears things from me :goodvibes ) The lifeguard smiled, but part of his response was "In this heat if it's people from the Boardwalk who have walked all the way over here, I just let them in." :scared1: I didn't say anything (I would have posted immediately if I could have popcorn:: ) but I did mention it to DH who of course was sympathetic to anyone trying to function in that heat (Sunday the high temp. record was tied at 96 and the heat index I saw on weather channel was 103).
Just thought you might find this interesting!

sounds reasonable...;)

I hope Stormalong Bay was at least refreshing, some of the pools recently have felt like hot tubs because of the heat...and other factors :confused3

It was refreshing because it was 96 degrees, but I'm guessing the pool temp was at least mid 80s. There was no "gasp" like when you hit cold water, more of an "aaaahhhh" when you went in.
Don't want to think about the "other factors".:goodvibes

Not suprised the only people who seem bothered are on these boards. I've said a million times Disney isn't bothered and it isn't worth stressing about.

You can't just go by the remarks of one cast member. I am sure there are many more that take pride in their jobs and enforce the rules.

I sincerely doubt that as many people pool hop as get mad about it.

I just hope this lifeguard wasn't guarding while carrying on a conversation with your husband. He ought to be watching people, not chatting about pool-hopping.

Stormalong Bay is the pool I was in the most growing up & I've never stayed at Yacht/Beach. We never had anyone say anything. Now I know it's not allowed, so we don't bother, plus I don't go to WDW to swim, I can do that anywhere. The last WDW pool I was in was Stormalong Bay & that was 2004, I was staying at the Dolphin.

Oh no, the lifeguard we were talking to was checking IDs to put wristbands on. He didn't have an assignment to watch anything else. They have dozens of lifeguards there and all are very vigilant as far as I could tell.

Actually "Disney" does care and by that I mean Disney management, not the lifeguards, who at minimum wage is probably going to tell your husband most anything.

I am also sure if your husband had asked him, would it be ok to quote him on the DIS and use his name, his story would be very different.

Good thing you did not post his name, as Disney management reads these boards and would not be pleased with his behavior.
