Pool hopping question

Okay here is my question. We are DVC members, and are going to WDW for 2 weeks. The first week we are staying at the Polynesian (paying cash). The second week we are staying at BCV on points. Can we do the pool hopping thing the first week (while we are staying at Poly) or do you have to be staying at a DVC resort to do the pool hopping? (Just general pool hopping, I know we wouldn't be able to hop to Stormalong Bay that first week.)

You will need to have a room id stating DVC Member. If your Poly key has that imprinted, you should be able to pool hop. Your stay at BCV will definitley have that on the key.

you realize you are staying at the 2 of the best (if not the best) pools at WDW right?

I mean CSR is nice - but I think Polyn is better and it can't come close to SALB (BC/YC/BCV).

so where are you planning on pool hopping too?

now shopping - oh yes - go visit all the resort gift shop and see what is on SALE!!!

I was thinking the same thing, those 2 pools are great, thats where everyone wants to hop to

You will not be able to pool hop when not staying on points at a DVC, at least not legally.

I just thought it might be something fun to do one day, when we take a day off from the parks.

Oh and I agree, we always stay at SSR but love to hop over to the Poly for swimming , food, and drinks.

well the Polyn is for the MK - you got that covered.

SALB is for Epcot and Studios - you got that covered.

that leaves AK - and AKL is one of the pool we can't pool hop too....

so I would just stick to your resort pools and pool hop another time when you pick different resorts.

Anyone know whay we can't hop to AKL? I understand Storm Along Bay but what is so special aboput the AKL Pool?

Is it becuase it is the only pool close to AK so there could be a trend of dropping over for a dip while at AK?

I have stayed at AKL, it is awesome but the pool is no better than some of the others.

I think initially it was because the animals may still be skittish of large crowds and noise, and they expected people to flock to the resort. I know when it first opened you had to leave a CC deposit to book dinner at Jiko and Boma.
