Pool Hopping if Renting Points

I'm sure this has been answered before but I couldn't find an answer by searching. I rented points to stay at BWV in a couple of months and I read somewhere on a trip report that they mentioned they went to another resort's pool. Is this permissable if you rent points or only if you are the DVC owner? I'd like my boys to try out SAB. Thanks!

Pool hopping is for members only. Also, there is no hopping to SAB or the other pools at the Beach Club.

SAB is one of the pools where pool hopping is not allowed at any time.

Pool Hopping is a perk for DVC Members. Renters are not entitled to pool hop but you might be able to do so if your room ID states "DVC Member" and the resort you choose does not want to see your membership card in addition to the room key. There are specific rules regarding pool hopping (call the resort before going to get permission, blackout dates where its not allowed and pools - SAB, BLT, AKV - that do not allow any hopping) that will also need to be followed.

Thanks, everyone! I should have taken advantage of it when BWV pool was closed for refurb back in Feb 2008 but it was just myself and my DBFF and neither of us were interested in the pool on that visit.

I think my guys will be satisfied with the "scary" pool :scared1:

I'm not a fan of the clown face either. A tip: sit on the bar side of the pool and you won't have a face-on view of the clown. The kids also get a kick out of being "clown-vomit". It's one of the few times we can actually laugh at the word. I just asked DS if he thought the slide was one of the best and he said yes, but the slide pinches his rear end. So not only is he spooky and vomits kids into our swimming hole, we have a derriere pinching clown there. ;)

Try renting at Kidani or Beach Club next time, they're both fantastic for the kiddos.

I actually did the scary clown slide last month when we stayed at BWV. Not sure if it's something they do all the time but, while we were there, the first child down the slide when it opened in the morning was the Keister Coaster child of the day and got a snorkel set and some funky glasses. Might be fun if your kids are around when it first opens (10am I think) :)
