I couldn't find this topic in member perks, though I know I have seen it there before. No success with a search on this forum either.

Is pool-hopping still allowed? Where do you "hop"to, and what are the logistics?

i.e. "hop" to Keister Coaster at Boardwalk. Have swimsuit and towels in backpack. Change there, layout, swim, whatever. When done, change back and walk over to Epcot for afternoon and evening.

All info and tips appreciated, and Where is it now on the member website?

I believe there are blackout dates, not sure which ones though. But I do know that you can not hop to AKV, BLT, or BCV pools ever. We have hopped to the Polynesian pool once. We just wore our suits and cover ups, took the MK bus from our resort, and then jumped on the monorail to the Poly. We then went back via the same route. We did not go a park afterward. We did this on a non-park day. HTH.

We take a bus to the park closest to the resort we want to end up at. OKW to AK, then take the bus to AKL. Wait they don't allow pool hopping there so use BW as an example.

That the bus from OKW to the Studios, then boat or walk to boardwalk.

Can anyone please tell me where it is now on the member website?
I looked under member perks, where it used to be, and could not find it there, or anywhere.:sad2:

On the Member site, go to "Member Privileges" and then from the tool bar on the left select "Member Perks/Walt Disney World Resort"/"Recreation"/"Water Activities"/"Pool Hopping Information":

"Pool Hopping Information
Whenever you are staying on your Membership at Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort, Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas, Disney's Beach Club Villas, Disney's BoardWalk Villas, Disney's Old Key West Resort, Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, Disney's Vero Beach Resort, or The Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, you and any Guests staying with you, are permitted to use most of the other Disney Vacation Club and Walt Disney World® Resort hotel pools (in addition to the pool at the resort hotel at which you are staying) if they are not at capacity. If the pool you are visiting reaches capacity, you may be asked to leave in order to accommodate Guests of that resort hotel. Please check with a Host or Hostess at the Front Desk of the resort hotel you wish to visit before you go to find out about pool-access availability. You must present your current "Key to the World" card with your "DVC Member" designation on it to use the other resort hotel pools.

Pool hopping is not available at Bay Cove Pool at Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort, Uzima Pool and Samawati Springs Pool at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, Stormalong Bay at Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resorts, and the leisure pool at Disney's Beach Club Villas. There are no exceptions to this policy. As a reminder, during times of high occupancy, please be mindful of the limited number of pool chairs available, and refrain from leaving towels or personal items on unoccupied pool chairs.

Resort hotel pools may become unavailable from time to time due to capacity limitations. Due to the high occupancy that is expected, Disney Vacation Club Members and any Guests staying with them may not pool hop during the following dates*:

•February 14-20, 2010 (Sun – Sat)
•March 27 – April 10, 2010 (Sun – Sat)
•May 28 – 31, 2010 (Fri – Mon)

We pool hop on each trip.

Last trip were stayed at VWL, took the boat to CR and then the monrail to Poly to swim. We then jumped on the monrail and went to Epcot and walked to BW. We have even pool hoped to OKW, by taking transportion to DD and boating there.

There are always rest rooms by the pools, we just change when we get there and have a bag for our wet stuff!

We make a day of it and its lots of fun!

I thought you weren't allowed to hop at the Poly or any other non-DVC resort (along with AKL, BLT & BCV). Am I wrong in that thought?

DVC members can hop to any Disney pool except AKL, BLT and BCV following the DVC guidelines.

Thanks! I really thought that it meant only at the approved DVC resort pools. DH and I will have to take advantage of that when we go for our first stay in Dec!

So, to pool hop without a car you have to do it on foot. On one foot.

If you do it with both feet, well, that is skipping. They don't have pool skipping.

So, be sure you stay on one foot. Hope that helps :upsidedow

We rarely have a car, and rarely pool hop, but we have done it. With the AP discount we never have an open day to make a day out of it or anything. If we are down during the summer-we may take a MK break at POLY or GF-maybe WL. We are usually at BCV so we have little reason to hop-but have been walking to DHS (again in the summer) and jumped in the BW pool for a quick cool down. Also the kids are now older so they dont swim as much-but still think its a nice perk for owners if they want.
