Pool Hopping for DVC Members - what is allowed?

Hi I am hoping someone will help me with this.


We are going to POP century in June (we had a great code booked before we bought DVC).

We would like to pool hop now that we are DVC members and have our pretty new blue cards!!!

Is there a FAQ on what resorts we can go to? I would love to go over to AKV but I think this is not allowed. What other resorts can we go over to? We have our car with us so getting there is not an issue. If we go over to say OKW what do we tell the little guard guy at the gate? Also are we able to go to pools at Non-DVC resorts? We would love to see the Coronado resort some too.

I don't want to do anything not legal, so please let me know how I can find out about the rules and what has been done by most DVC owners when they go pool hopping.

Pool hopping is only allowed when staying on DVC points. Sorry. As of right now, you can hop to any pools (you have to call the resort and make sure there is availability) except Stormalong Bay and the AKL pool.

Bummer, Even if I was staying on points I couldn;t pool hop since we are going in a blackout week.

Oh Well. We can still visit the other resorts.

Pool Hopping Information for 2008
You and any Guests staying with you at Disney's Old Key West Resort, Disney's BoardWalk Villas, The Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, Disney's Beach Club Villas or Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa are permitted to use other Disney Vacation Club and Walt Disney World Resort hotel pools (in addition to the pool at the Resort hotel at which you're staying) if they are not at capacity.

If the pool you are visiting reaches capacity, you may be asked to leave in order to accommodate Guests of that Resort hotel. Please check with a Host/Hostess at the Front Desk of the Resort hotel you wish to visit to find out about pool-access availability. You must present your current "Key to the World" card with your Disney Vacation Club "Member" designation on it to use other Resort hotel pools. Pool hopping is not available at Uzima Pool at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge and Stormalong Bay at Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resorts or at the leisure pools of these two Resort hotels. There are no exceptions to this policy.

Resort hotel pools may become unavailable from time to time because of capacity limitations. Due to expected high occupancy, Disney Vacation Club Members may not "pool hop" during the following dates*:
May 23 - 26, 2008
June 28 - July 5, 2008
August 29 - September 1, 2008
November 24 - 30, 2008
December 14, 2008 - January 4, 2009
*Other restricted dates may be added based on projected pool capacity.
