We just returned from our 8 day Disney trip. We had 12 family members in total and decided to rent 2 villa/pool homes. We rented both through www.orlandovillas.com which I was referred to through this site.

We had a 5bed/3bath home in Hampton Lakes, and a 3 bed 2 bath in Emerald Island. Both homes were the exact homes that were pictured inside and out on their websites. Both homes were immaculate on check in with all the promised amenities available. There were no problems with checking into or out of either home. Pools were heated (which we paid extra for) and very clean. The homes were very, very beautiful.

DH says we are never staying in a hotel again when visiting Orlando. It was really great to come home from the parks and have a couch to kick back on-- or a being able to swim whenever we wanted. Having the washer/dryer were a huge savings. The beds were clean and really cute headboards--- my only complaint is the mattresses weren't the most comfortable. However, I hate almost all mattresses--- other than my own! If anyone would like the specific villa numbers from that website PM me--- any questions please feel free to ask!!

Kilee,I'm happy you enjoyed your vacation homes in Orlando! We also rented a 5 Bed/4 Bath home in Hampton Lakes! Did you like the Hampton Lakes Area? Was it an easy drive to Disney? Did you take Route 27 to 192 to Disney? How were most of the homes in that development? Ours is located at 212 Bloomingdale Drive. We leave in 4 weeks and can't wait! I hope we are just as happy with our home as you were with yours...

Looks wonderfull ,now if i could only talk my wife into it.....She says were not on vacation if we are cleaning a house or cooking,She would rather us camp in our camper.........Big Daddy sure would like to have the room to spread out !!!! Glad you had a great trip! The place looks wonderfull!!!!!!!!!!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :hyper:

Daddy Don just tell your wife that no-one cleans the homes they rent out -they don't seem to attract dust or dirt - I don't know why alitle bit of tidying may be all thats required .Also even though the homes have a full working kitchen in the 5 years I have had my home I don't think anyone has hardly used my kitchen -they all eat out. Go for it try to persuade her :D

:) thanks i will.May take a arm pull;)

While I agree with your wife about cooking, cleaning, etc. on vacation, it won't be like that.

We always get some breakfast items (cereal, donuts, juice, coffee, etc.) which saves a lot, and the dishes are easily placed in the dishwasher.

We like to order pizza delivered or get take-out for meals. Sometimes we do corndogs, hotdogs, etc., but only for items that are simple to make. We also use paper plates sometimes and just throw them away.

Also, the washer/dryer really is wonderful. We don't have to pack as much, and it makes going home much more pleasurable.

The extra room is hard to beat, and it's not like being at home (much, much better! LOL).

daddydon i too was against renting a villa before I tried it figured I would be doing all the work and everyone would be setting ontheir hiney's so i voiced how i felto to dh and he assured me we would all help. the villa really does not seem to get dirty, and everyone pitched in if we had a full meal there. There is a dishwasher so everyone loaded their own and we took turns unloading. We had a grill so we grilled alot. The wsher and dryer are very nice. We like to spend a few of our days just lounging around the pool, so I would throw a load or two in while we were swimming. Then that evening we usually went out to eat and played a few rounds of minature golf. All the extra room is well worth it as is the pool. But if your go between oct - may have the pool heated, it is well worth it.

:) Thank all of you for your replys!!!!! They were so welcome! In fact ,quite a shock!!! As i was expecting quite the difference of opionion .Thats why we love the Dis.....
Thanks,
Don and Family.

From Hampton Lakes we were at Disney within 15-20 minutes depending on traffic and which park we were going to. The ride seemed really quick every morning though. One tip, most mornings there was a sherriff doing radar right at the entrance of the community-- so watch your speed. We always took 192 to pretty much everywhere. There is a Publix that is only 3 minutes away, and the opposite way there is a Walgreen's that is also only 2-3 minutes.

Another thing Daddy Don tell your wife that I feel she would have much more work if you were camping. All the work getting it ready and being in a much smaller space. If she has any questions have her pm me and I'll be happy to answer them. It is nice to have more than one tv if you are hanging around that way the kids can watch what they want and etc.

:) When we camp i do all the work!!!!!!Sad to say but true!

How long does it take for them to get back with you... I put a inquiry in last nite..With orlandovillas.com

I can't really tell you how long it takes for them to get back. The first and second time we rented we phoned the management co.( this was before we had internet access). The first tiem they told us what they had available for our dates and then we booked from that, right over the phone. The second time didn't have internet at home but I went to library and picked a few homes form the management's website and then phoned them, and they again told me what was available and we booked over the phone. For our up coming 3 week stay we found a home on the internet with additional features that we liked(otherwise would have used some management co,.) and contacted owner directly. the owner lives in the uk and we live in the states. but I pretty sure we heard with in 24 hours. every time I have e-mailed her she has e-mailed me back promptly. Being the week-end I would see what you hear by tomorrow.:bounce:

For us-- I did everything over the net. I got replies anywhere from right away for up to 5 days. I did alot of research though-- and inquired w/ many different companies. I then found what I wanted at a rate I wanted. The whole process of researching, gathering availability, and getting rates-- until I made my reservsation took almost 10 days for me.

remember a lot of the owners on Orlandovillas.com will be based here in UK so are 5 hours behind you time wise. I assure you you will get answers when did you request the info ?

Saturday evening.....:D Oh well standing bye .I do have ressies to the royal pacific if things dont work out ,But at least i gave it a shot and got my wife to look at some of the houses on the web site and she seemed open to the idea.

its odd if you have received nothing yet have yo got a copy of what you sent you can e-mail me and I will see if there is a problem on the site although I have had requests through from them all over the weekend but I can certainly try to help you out

Thanks, give me a few min i have to pull out my lap top thats where most of my weekend work was done...A new toy;) Santa came early!:)
