pool home near universal

My family and I are planning a trip to Orlando and will be spending some time at Universal and Sea World, not Disney. Are there any rentals similar to a Windsor Hills in the Universal area? I have looked at Vista Cay and it looks like what we are looking for, but I didn't see any homes with private pools (a must for us). We would like something with resort amenities that is a newer resort. Am I asking too much? Thanks for any input!

I would say Vista Cay, it was built by Pulte and modeled after Windsor Hills (same builder)...but you didn't like it! LOL

Don't any of the homes there have pools? It's all still under construction you know...they may have not built any stand alone pool homes yet, but I don't know if any are in the works / plans.

Not sure that such a new place is great to stay at during construction either...you might get a great rate, but there's construction still, meaning workers, dust, noise, trucks, etc all to contend with.

You know I was just wondering the same thing. We may just have to go back to check out Sea World's new water park next year but if we go it will be just a Sea World & Universal trip.

We also love pool homes and have stayed in Windsor Palms and Windsor Hills. I thought Vista Cay would be perfect for us but I could only find condos and townhouses when I did a search.

I'm not sure how far along they are with the construction but I couldn't find any pool homes listed yet. We would prefer a pool home if possible but I loved the look of Vista Cay and would definitely like to check it out on a future trip.

They will in Spring 2008!!! There are a few threads that have the link to it and I know it must be on the Sea World board as well. It looks amazing and I believe it is going to be called Aquatica.

We liked Universal. Right now we dont have another trip booked but we will probably get the Universal Tickets on promo right now and go down next year to check out Aquatica.

I'd stay in Windsor Hills or Windsor Palms again but less driving would be even better so I'll be checking out Vista Cay before we book anything.

We'd prefer a pool home and dont mind the extra $$$ but I could only find condos and townhouses. Those would be fine too for our family but I wanted to find out more about the contruction and overall plans for the resort.
