Other than the lazy river, does Aulani offer floats/rafts/noodles in the pool or lagoon area for use? If so, are they free or for charge? If they don't offer anything like this, are guests permitted to use their own in the pools or lagoons or would they be prohibited? Thanks!

I think I asked this at some point, and they do not offer any other floats, but was told you can buy some at the ABC store and use them in the pools and lagoon =) I plan on buying some cheap ones for my boys to use at the lagoon.

There were definitely noodles and little floats (those covered kind for babies/toddlers) in the lazy river last week. But no other bigger kinds of floats would really be necessary - we never had a problem getting a raft for the slides/lazy river. Plenty of them. There were tons and tons of floaty things at the beach. No way could they try to restrict that, b/c the beaches are all public (only the chairs/umbrellas are restricted to Aulani guests). You can get boogie boards from Makiki Joe's, but they are not always easy to come by. People hog them all day. A family leaving had purchased two, written their names on them, and gave them to us. We added our names and gave them to a family when we left too. :) Maybe you'll end up with them!

I saw noodles in the pools, but not bigger floats. That may be the one thing they don't let you do? Or no one bothers since you can float in the lazy river if you want to float? Probably will depend on the size.

Also - you can borrow life vests for free if it's an issue of keeping heads above water.

Just returned this AM. Sigh. I will second the suggestion about the boogie boards. Our girls decided they loved them, and wanted them on all the beach/pool days. You can check them out for free from 8AM to 5PM daily, and people literally were checking out 4 or more boards at a time (they are numbered, and we think there are about ~30 total for the entire resort!!). People do bring them back off and on during the day at times (sometimes they keep them all day), but often we would breeze by and see none. If we saw one, we would try to get it and have them share until another could be found. Had I known this was going to be such a fun thing for them, I would have bought cheap ones at Target on day one, used them for 9 days and passed them on. On Saturday, my husband was at Beach Rentals shack at 7:45am to make sure we got two. Crazy.

Plenty of floats in lazy river. I saw no big floats in pools. Would not want to have to keep track of that with all the people there.

Didn't that make you nuts?? It was like "well, we can't hog pool chairs anymore indefinitely, so let's hog boogie boards instead!" Why take them out and then just leave them sitting against your beach chair for hours?? The one time we actually got a single boogie board from Makiki Joe's, it was b/c I stalked a dad on his way to return it. Another mom came up too, but I had already claimed it to the CM he was returning it to. She gave me a death look b/c she had been checking in multiple times. Well, I had too! I felt bad anyway, b/c I know how much it stinks to keep going back to check b/c your 7yo asks "maybe now they have one?", but we actually used it for 30min between 2 kids, and then promptly returned it rather than hang on to it for a few more hours. I watched two little girls burying theirs in the sand after leaving them against beach chairs for a while. I guess at least they were using them...

My girls have taken their pool floats to the lagoon, but I wouldn't want them to use them in the pool. They are too big and with the lifeguards, I'm not sure they are allowed.

If you have a car you can buy cheap inflatable rafts at Target. I tend to bring a couple and then leave them for another family when we leave. Not sure about Aulani, but at the Marriott there are air pumps to inflate them by the towel check area at two of the pools. That's also where they have the bins to leave beach/pool toys for others.

I like to go to the end of summer clearance and buy a few at our local Target.

It's nice to float in the lagoons with them! So relaxing!

They have a store in Ko Olina in their little shopping center across from Aulani. It is not called an ABC store but I am pretty sure it is one in disguise. They should have the cheap mats for 3.99 plus a dollar for air

Yes it's owned by ABC company.

Does Aulani have air pumps for inflating the rafts? The Marriott has two of them - one by each towel stand. Free air.

Either way it's so fun to have a raft in the lagoon! Ahhhhh.
