I've heard so much about how packed the WL pool gets. What times of day are we talking -- just midday -- or is it packed morning, noon and night?

How about in October as opposed to peak season?

We just returned Sept 7-17 and the pool was quite manageable. Two o'clock seem to be more than any other time but usually cleared around 4pm, 3-4 pm showers. We've been there also in October and it was okay then too, most just take an hour or 2 dip and were gone.

I find the main pool to be crowded as it's quite small IMHO. But to add to it, the quiet pool/villa pool will be closed most of October and November (starting Oct. 8th), so that will certainly add to the crowds during those 2 months.

I agree the pool at the WL is quite small and with the villa pool closed, it will likely be quite crowded. The bigger issue this August (end of the month) was the temp of the pools, it was like stepping into murky bath water. Not the least bit refreshing, and actually somewhat disgusting. I know it was Aug and it was hot, but come on, there must be some way to at least make these pools somewhat refreshing. It was awful.

At least by Oct. hopefully the temp will be better:wizard:

We were there at the end of July/beginning of August. While the pool was "busy" in the afternoons, it was still quite "manageable". No problem finding a seat or not having enough room to swim - just quite a few people.

Hope that helps.:)

We stayed at the WL in Aug 2003. The pool was very over crowded. My daughter found out the many were guests at Fort Wilderness. When we visited last week we visited the Lodge just because we love it and the pool was not at all crowded. We also visited the campgrounds, we bought a camper last year, and ran into people staying at the Fort Wilderness cabins. They were complaining that the pools offered to them were not much. They also told us that they had to sign a paper stating that they would only use the pools they were supposed to use. I guess maybe enough had complained about the people at WL pool that didn't belong. I have never had to sign anything about use of pools even on our visit last week so hopefully this will stop overcrowding at WL pool!!

We were there the last week in August. Never thought it was crowded. The pool cm's organized a lot of games for the kids so I did think it was a bit noisy. I did go in the pool but rather lounged on the chairs. Always got a lounge chair out of the sun. We usually go down around 2:00 pm for a few hours.

Last two visits over spring break have not had a problem with pools being over crowded.

March and Sept/October pool was very manageable. We found it most crowded in the early afternoon (2-4pm) timeframe. People had done the parks and were back for a resort break. That said, we were on pacific time and found swimming at 10-11 pm at night we almost had the pool to ourselves. Go figure!
