We are staying at VWL next week and I just read that the pool slide is closed for refurb. I found an article that states that VWL guests can use the CR pool during this time. My husband will be so so mad at me if we try this and get sent away. Has anyone been to WL this month and tried this? Here is the article is saw:

Wilderness Lodge pool slide closed

The Silver Creek Springs pool slide at Disney's Wilderness Lodge and Villas is currently closed for refurbishment. Work is scheduled to run through March 31, 2010.

During the refurbishment, both the Silver Creek Springs Pool and the Hidden Springs Pool remain open for guest use. Guests are also permitted to use the pool and slide at Disney's Contemporary Resort.

Where did you see it?

So it's just the slide that's closed? The pool is still open? :confused3
That stinks. I wish they'd do this stuff during off peak times. Isn't that why it's so cheap in Jan?

I also read this in Mousesavers newsletter for March.:headache:
Oh well.... good excuse to return again.:goodvibes

Do you think we can really use CR pool? I am non confrontational and would be so embarassed if I got kicked out of a pool! My kids would never let me hear the end of it. If anyone has stayed at WL this month and used CR pool this month please let me know.

They will tell you @ check-in if that's the case, and if they don't, ask the CM checking you in. If that's what they're doing while the slide is closed, the CR lifeguards will know that.

I never thought the pools at the Contemporary were that great-aren't they out near the dock and lake?

I cant imagine riding the boat all that way just to use a slide:confused3

Yes, when the main feature pool is closed, they offer the guests staying at that resort the option to go to a select nearby resort and swim in that feature pool. In the other refurbs this year, AKL got to swim in Kidani and CSR got to swim at CBR. You don't need to worry about it - just go swim at the Contemperary if you want to, just like it says you can. There will probably even be a piece of paper in your room that says pretty much exactly what you copy and pasted in here, if another guest has not taken it.

When the Poly pool was closed for rehab, they even ran extra boat launches over to the GF so Poly guests could more easily use the GF pool. I would not be at all surprised if they ramp up the boat service between for CR and WL for this short time. I have NO doubt that you WILL be allowed to use the CR pool.

If you have children who LOVE a slide, then you could imagine it!

The Contemporary Resort pool is fantastic in my book. I love being right next to Bay Lake. The pool is large, and it's lovely with lots of fountains.

There is a fast slide that is a hoot to ride into the water. We laughed so hard each time one of us splashed in!

Called yesterday. Recreation said that pool may reopen this week. They hope to have it completed by early this week. Let's hope!! Will be there Friday 3/26/10. :woohoo:
First time at WL. Chose it for a deluxe and slide. If it's closed would have just stayed at POFQ which we love.

One time when I was staying at the Wilderness Lodge they had to close the pool because a baby had an accident in there, however they said anyone who wanted to swim was allowed to use the pool at the Contemporary. So this is not the first time they have let their guests swim over there.

I hope it does open this week. We were hoping for a relaxing week with lots of pool time but if the slide is not closed we would get no rest from the kids making us entertain them 100% of the time! If it is not open, I will be at CR so the kids will have fun and we will get a break. See you there! :)

I stayed at CR a couple of years ago. Even though I was a guest, nobody checked my resort ID. Nobody even talked to me for that matter!

We also went over to WL to look around (to see if would be an option for the future!). The boat ride was less than 5 minutes.

From what I read, it's just the slide that's closed. Is the whole pool closed? :confused3 We wouldn't trek to CR just for the slide but if WL's pool is also closed I guess we'll have to.

Has anyone heard if the pool slide is open yet? Leaving Friday and hoping it's open. Haven't called again to see if work has been completed on the slide or not.
