Pool cleaners generally do not have access to the house. Normally they enter through the pool screen door onto the pool deck, do their work and then leave. They tend to have a scheduled route, so normally go on the same day every week. The owners may know what day the pool cleaner comes, or they should be able to find out for you. It may be hard to pin down a time, as it really depends on how long the jobs take, but if you know the pool guys work on a Tuesday or whatever day it is, then you can plan for that.

Chances are you would need to be out of the pool whilst the pool guy does the maintenance work, and perhaps for a short while after whilst the chemicals disperse.

I have never felt unsafe when the pool guys have visited to clean the pool, even if I was home alone.

I would recommend you ask your owner what day the pool guys service the pool and then make sure that you are all enjoying a day at the parks that day.

So far in the villas we have rented we have never known when the pool/spa people were coming (never asked ahead though)- first villa the guy scared the heck out me.....no knock no yell just all of a sudden coming through screen door onto pool deck. He was very nice and also just gave me a bottle of stuff to dump in the hot tub that night after we were done with it- otherwise we would have had to stay out for a few hours if he had put it in. I would have thought they would at least do a yell/knock as they come around back..... same with the people who look after the yard....they have just come and started up their tools outside the screen area.

The pool person comes weekly, important to leave the screen door unlocked so they can get in. They will not access the home at all. They are nonintrusive, not to worry. Don't let anyone in posing as maintenance men or such. If the management company were sending someone, they will let you know, or you can make a quick call to check a person out before allowing anyone into the townhome. Windsor Hills screens everyone coming in and out, as far as maintenance people go. They have to sign in and out, so it is a pretty safe resort with all the protections they have in place. But remember you are on vacation, whether in a hotel or a resort, and exercise cautions as travelers are vulnerable.
