How is the pool at POFQ for a 5 year old under 4ft tall. and a 6yr old (average ht)I noticed the shallow area is 3ft 6 inches?

I think I remember the pool at Boardwalk being better but that was years ago?

If you have any any other suggestions about places with good pools it would be most appreciated.
Thanks Can't wait to go this summer.:yay:

I can only comment on the pool at POFQ. It was perfect for our then 3.5 and 5 year olds. The slide is mild, but fun because of the themeing. My 3.5 yo only did the slide a few times, but his sister could have done it all day, everyday, lol. My kids could easily swim around the main pool with my DH and I. There is a place where water falls into the pool and that was fun for them to swim under and around. What I really liked was that the resort is smallish so the pool never seemed to be crowded except late at night after the parks closed and everyone was back at the resort (we never swam that late).

The kiddie pool was large and even with a bunch of kids in it there was still enough room for everyone.

I hope some people chime in with opinins of the Boardwalk for you. Clowns give me the willies, so even as beautiful as the Boardwalk is I couldn't stay there because of the pool, lol.

I really like the Boardwalk pool area. It is compact and has a kiddie pool, playground and big pool in an area where you can see the entire complex. There is the super great slide that was perfect for an adventuresome 5 yo. Also, you can borrow swim vests for the length of your stay so that will help with non/weak swimmers. There is even a hot tub that gives a pretty good vantage point for the big pool. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the info on the pool at the POFQ. It seems more kid friendly than I could tell from the pics.

Thanks for letting me know about the vests at Boardwalk.

HAve to decide in a few days.:hourglass

Gracie, the swim vests are available at the POFQ pool as well (as are pool towels). I don't think you are supposed to keep them for your length of stay, only for the time you are at the pool, but I'm sure people keep them all day. There were always some vests available, but we had water wings with us and that is what te kids used most of the time.

We stayed at the POFQ and loved the pool. OUr DD was almost 4, but we brought water wings like the PP. It was not a problem. The pool was never crowded, not even close. Again as PP stated the POFQ is great because it is so much smaller than the other resorts. I loved the intimacy of it. Our DD loved the slide and all the little themed areas.

I vote for POFQ!!

Have a wonderful time!!

We really enjoyed the POFQ pool, and my 6 year old dd really loved it. I liked that I could see her the entire way up and down the slide, so after a few ups and downs I felt okay with her doing this without me and just with her big brothers (12 and 11).

Another plus to POFQ is that we took the boat (very pleasant!) to POR and we had access to a whole other pool area with another neat slide (my older boys actually preferred this pool area).

Have fun deciding...it is a pleasant choice to be struggling with :-)

We've done both the Boardwalk and POFQ with dd4 (almost 5 and a reasonable swimmer) and dd2. Both were fun and you probably won't be disappointed with either. However, we liked POFQ better! It was a quick hop to the snack bar, the slide was bright, colorful, but not too steep! I had to walk dd4 up to the clown slide. We also went in the kiddie pool and this was nice and warm and not too crowded. For the price difference, POFQ is a much better deal!

We love the Boardwalk pool. My DS4.5 has been going down the slide for a few trips now. We just grab a table right near the steps and end of slide and watch him as he goes. He knows to wait till the lifeguard says go. My youngest DS3 loves the pool too. It has a shallow area but he puts a vest on and cruises around the pool.

As far as the vests you can hold onto them for your entire stay. You just let them know when you rent it and then return it your last day. It is so much easier to have them on before we get down to the pool as they just want to jump in!
