Anyone have anymore info on the new pool at the Marriott Grande Vista. I heard it was opening in June and I lost the thread we had going about this.

Here's you sign ..... I mean link :p

New Pool at GV

I am hoping someone that went recently took some pictures that they can share.

I didn't take any - because I was disappointed - it is alot like the present pool - nothing that great.....

besides there was a big wall and unless you were staying in the rooms across the bay up high - you can't really see anything - of course I could have taken a picture of their picture of what it will look like.....

sorry didn't think of that at the time.

it is like a pirates's cove - has a castle and an a candale - it looks more like a take off of the Pirates of the Carribean ride at WDW than anything like SALB - Storma long baye - the big main pool for both BC/YC....

It just don't look that special - I could be wrong.....

I was at the GV in May, and I couldn't get close enough to take any pictures either. I agree with Spiceycat that from the sign, it just looked ok--nothing that special. More theming than real features. That said, we do love the resort and had a wonderful stay there. We were at the parks too long to really use the pool area much anyway.

Thanks for your feedback guys. I'll be there 7/3 to 7/12, I'll take some pics for all to see.

Harry O I asked you this in another post but you must not have answered. I live in Mass too and I want to know since you live in Pilmouth, where are the good sea food restaurants in Plimouth? Do not like the one down on the water front , Lobster Hut. Do you know anything about the one next to it. It looks fairly new and trendy.

The restaurant next to Lobster Hut is called EastBay Grille. The food is good. I'm not a real big seafood fan so I really can't comment on where the best seafood place is. There is also a place a little further down the street right across the street from the harbor called Iaasacs, beautiful view of the harbor nice atmosphere the food is decent to good in my opinion.

Thanks, I guess I really should have asked this on the Phantom Gourmet but I cannot for some reason post on their website.

I called the resort yesterday and the new pool complex is open. If I can quit being technology challenged, I will post pictures when we return.....

just returned from GVista and yes the pool is OPEN and wonderful, but sorry to say I do not have any pictures to share :(

can you describe it a little? Was it overly crowded(especially with obnoxious teens)

Sure. We visited the pool on a Wednesday and a Friday and neither of the days was it really crowded. There is two large pool areas where the depth is from 3 ft to 4 ft and then there is a wading pool area with fountains for the little ones to play in. This area is a bit crowded where the lounge chairs are but still enjoyable. I actually didn't see any teens, well maybe there were a couple at one end of the pool playing basketball, but they were not a bother and there was no loud music!!!! They have a wonderful grill area that you can order lunch from, sandwiches, burgers, chicken fingers, and beverages and clean restrooms. There is plenty of areas that are shaded oh and there is a hot tub! It is beautiful and this resort is awesome, we stayed in the one bedroom, my two children 4 and 9 stayed on the pull out couch and we fit just fine! Actually I beleive we are going to buy a timeshare, I am just looking at other sites to get a little feed back on timeshare opportunities. Hope I gave you the insight you were looking for. If you have any other questions I will be happy to answer if I can!!!

Thanks. Check out this site for timeshare deals. I know you are looking to buy but at least you can try some of these on for size. Just STAY AWAY from Liki Tiki and anything with WESTGATE in the name.

Thanks for this info....Since I am new to the timeshare world what is up with westgate? Why is it so bad :)

For timeshare information check out www.tug2.net For $15 you can get a lot of advice and reviews on 1,600 timeshares. We personally purchased from Marriott and are very happy and would not do it differently.

Westgate is usually considered bad because of the intense sales pressure that is put on you. If you go on their tour you are in for several hours with the salesman, the manager, the managers manager, etc. until they wear you down or out.
