I've not been to WDW in awhile, and I've put on a lot of weight. Actually, I'm not so much "pooh" sized as I am a fat "eeyore.";)
What I'm really worried about is fitting on rides like Space Mountain, Rock-n-Roller Coaster, Test Track--the action rides! I'm 6', weigh 290 pounds, and have a waist of 52"....I'm trying to lose weight before we go, but it would really give me peace of mind to know that I could fit on these rides before I go thru the trouble of going all the way through the line and then facing the humiliation of getting booted off because the safety devices won't fit over my gut! Anyone have any reassurance for me? Or any specific ride/attraction I should avoid? Thanks for all your help!

You shouldnt have any problem riding rides. Some of the turnstiles are a bit small, like POC, but the rides are very comfortable for the pooh-sized like myself. You may want to check out http://allearsnet.com/tp/ridsiz.htm
It is a very informative site. Dont worry, you will have a great time!

Howdy!

I too am Pooh sized. When I went to WDW back in 2001 I was way over 300lbs, and being 5'10" I too was worried. I was able to ride everything I wanted. Only ride I had a problem with was Space Mountain  But my wonderful BF just grabbed my hand and helped me up. I was worried about fitting into everything. But I fit with no problem! When I went down last year, I had lost 85lbs! (woohoo!:jumping1: ) and I still had problems getting out of space mountain...bad knees :teeth: But don't worry about anything...all rides are able to handle us Pooh people. Just go and have a blast!!!!

Thanks for the help! Juls, I especially appreciated that link. I went to Six Flags in St. Louis last week-end and couldn't ride either Batman or Mr. Freeze. It bothered me more to think the samething might happen at WDW than it did that I couldn't go on those rides at Six Flags. That link put a lot of doubts to rest.:)

I'm putting together information for the DIS and WDWInfo.com for pooh-sized folks. I've been somewhat slack on it because i'm getting married this weekend, but I will begin work on it again after the wedding and honeymoon.

If any of you would like to contribute ideas, or thoughts, or experiences, please PM me! The more input that I have, the better and more informative the content will be. :)

I am definitely pooh sized too, and expecting a baby to boot.

I have never run into an embarrassing situation at Disney.

Now, that said I have avoided Space Mt. because of recommendations from here so I cannot speak for that ride. However, the closest Ive come to having to squeeze in somewhere is the turnstiles at the Country Bear Jamboree and at the main loading for the train that takes you all around. But, I did fit! Just a "Whew, good thing Im skinny" moment!! :p

I wouldnt let a moment of anxiety ruin your trip. Ive found Disney to be the most size friendly place Ive been!

You'll have a blast!

And remember A LOT of rides are designed for Mom, Dad and Kid to ride so there are lots of bench seats. I seriously doubt you alone or even with a friend are bigger then the three of them put together!

Have a great time!

Snacky Stacky, What a wonderful thing you are doing!

The number one thing that relieved my anxiety was actually seeing pictures of the ride seats. Maybe we could all pitch in and try to snap pictures of the seats whenever we are there, so you could post them on your site!

Isnt it kind of funny. Something that so many people take for granted and would NEVER give a second thought to is something that causes so many of us anxiety. It is really nice and refreshing to belong to this community where everyone is accepted for whatever size or question they may have!

Let me know if there is anything I can help with for your site. We are going for a ten day trip coming up in Sept. so if there is any specific information on something you would like me to gather, I would be happy to do so!!

Again, thanks!

You should have no problem riding the Skyway between Tomorrowland and Fantasyland either.

Have Fun!

Don't give it another thought, Acmy. The only thing I've found problems on was getting out of Astro orbiter. The problem is that your feet are on a level with your rear, so it's hard to push out and get off. It wouldn't be a problem at all, actually, if I didn't always feel like I should be able to bound out in sub-second time. Otherwise, all of the rides seem to be built for people of majestic proportions, like myself. :D

Go for it and have fun!

MY DH has never had Size issues at WDW, Cedar Point that's another story.
