Really, Vike? You want crow served over that?
Now, if somebody had disagreed at the time, I'd be willing to give them credit. But since nobody did, the crow seems to be more than a bit of a reach.
I guess I can have a taste, if it makes you feel better, but you'll need to do better next time.
All I was trying to say that people tend to post complaints more than praise.
I'm not sure I buy this. Certainly there are counters made to every criticism leveled in most threads. To Vike's point, the critical threads often are longer, but a lot of that is because there is usually a lot of discussion between those that agree and those that don't.
Really, whether one posts praise for Disney all depends on your frame of reference. If you are comparing Disney to a company on the verge of bankruptcy, certainly you will feel compelled to point out how things aren't that bad.
But if you are comparing Disney to what it used to be, and what it should be, praising the things they do right does nothing but distract from the real point.
We also need to keep in mind the board we are posting on. This board is a place for critical discussion of direction, based on the current happenings within and around Disney. (It starts with the posting of a rumor or news item of course, but then it goes from there)
So it follows that there isn't going to be a lot of Pixie Dust just for the sake of making everybody feel better.
The theme park board is a place for a much more tactical approach. Its not a place to go and rip on Eisner's baffonery, because its a place for people to get advice and learn about what there is to see and do. Its ok to say if a ride stinks of course, but the purpose is to help somebody plan. Consequently, that board has a lot more of the positive posts some seem to be looking for.
It just doesn't consider strategic direction very much, but that's fine for that arena.
