My DD, who is 3, has really gotten into the movies My Neighbor Totoro and Ponyo. They are made by Studio Ghibli, and I know that Disney has distribution rights here in the US to the Studio Ghibli movies.

Does anyone know if they have merchandise from any of those movies at the department store in the Japan pavilion at Epcot?

She wasn't into the movies when we went in April, but we're going back in October, and I know she would love trinkets from her favorite movies!!

Thanks in advance!

In Epcot in the Japanese shopping center there is some Ponyo merchandise. Not a whole lot. We almost bought some for my ds4. He LOVES that movie!

What did they have for Ponyo? Did they have the plush? What else?

*Anything* would do! I'm not so particular about what they have- she's crazy for Ponyo. "Ponyo, Ponyo, little fishie in the sea.."

Verlee, did you notice any Totoro stuff or was it definitely not there?

my niece got her totoro plush from disney world but that was a long time ago. hopefully they still have them for you. :)

I was there in Feb of this yr. Sorry but I am a little fuzzy about what exactly they had. I want to say that yes they did have Totoro stuff too but not alot. They did have the plush items from Ponyo, and the movie. No t-shirts. I was a little dissapointed that more was not available. Sorry I am not more help we decided on Star Wars items and Ponyo took a back seat.

My ds4 runs around the house saying "I want sosuke!" He sounds just like ponyo.

They have some Totoro stuff and a few other things too -- not a whole lot, but it's there. Books, DVDs, a few toys.

That said, you can get most of these things online and from eBay for much cheaper (and find a much better selection).

I could swear I saw a Totoro last year, but I'm not 110% sure. It wasn't a whole lot of stuff-- just a thing or two.

They had some Totoro merchandise when we were there in May. Nothing DH or I cared about but the two teenagers with us were excited! My Neighbor Totoro is one of my 19 year old daughter's favorite movies.

You just have to wade through all the Hello Kitty!

DH got a great Godzilla shirt there too. They have a whole lot of great Japanesse merchandise. I'm sure you'll find something you'll like.

So excited!!! My DS2 is in love with Ponyo. I didn't even think they might have merchandise. Now I'm so excited and have to look. Thanks!:goodvibes

Bingo. There was a huge price difference between the two for the same merchandice!

From what I can remember there were puzzles, keychains, and school supply stuff (folders, pens, notebooks, pencil case). I think I might have also seen a totebag. They also have The Art of *insert Studio Ghibli movie*Books.

There was a set of one of each of the school supply items for $40-45. I think just the folder itself was $5 or $6.

:rotfl: My daughter LOVES singing that song!!!!

I am at a loss as to why there are no Totoro plush toys at the Japan pavilion, no CM I've talked to the past few years can give me an answer either. They do have some nice bags and other merch with Totoro and Catbus, but no toys or t-shirts. One would think a Totoro doll would be an obvious item for sale in Japan, considering Disney/Pixar's relationship with Miyazaki.

A Ghibli-based attraction actually would be awesome in Japan now that I think of it.

I think '06 or '07 was the last time I saw Totoro plushes at the Japan pavillion.

Totoro had some decent screen time in Toy Story 3, so I figured he'd make a comeback to WDW merch, but so far nothing :confused3

When we were there in July there was a small selection of Totoro items. (would have thought it would be bigger). I was not really looking for Ponyo.

I was disappointed in the selection, but as other people have said, its cheaper to find elsewhere.

We are HUGE Totoro fans in my household. By the time my son was about 3 (now 18), he could recite the whole movie. I have the big grey Totoro tattooed and he is all over our house as well.

There is a exhibit in Japan about Oni, and some are the anime, but I think that would be to much for small children.

When I really want something, I usually get it from J-Box. For Christmas I got a Hello Kitty bento box... not sure of the shipping price though.

They have a whole TON of stuff... in fact I just saw a Jiji rattle I must have for my next baby... Oh boy, I shouldn't have looked that site up!! :lmao:
