What exactly do you get with the buffet at Ponderosa? I know you get an entree like steak/chicken, but not sure what the actual buffet entails. Also what is the breakfast buffet like?

TIA

when we went Nov 05 the eve buffet included,
chicken wings, chicken nuggets, ribs, fresh undressed salad items, potato salads and coleslaws, fresh fruit, spaghetti, meat balls, potato mash, croquettes, ice cream, cakes, muffins, pasta, rice, fish coujjons, soup.

We ate several times over 2 weeks and most of these thing were there nightly plus more. In fact our DDs who were 2 and 4 at the time ate solely from the buffet as under 5's ate free from the buffet with a full paying adult. We loved the availability of fruit and veg as that is what the youngest prefers to eat over fries any day.

Hope this helps

Can't help with morning buffet as we were onsite at WDW

Hi
Have you looked at their website? http://orlando-ponderosa.com/
I would say its 50% like Ponders 50% dont. We do as we have been going for 14 years and know the owners and get better discounts than the usual 10%.
you get choice of 4 soups, salad, pasta, veg, chicken wings, plus lots more. fruit, cakes, ice cream.
Its somewhere you need to try for yourself to see if you like,
Our favourite buffet is Sweet Tomatoes. http://www.sweettomatoes.com/locations/restaurant.asp?store_id=72&store_name=Orlando_1

Our experience with Ponderosa - is cheap and cheerful. We have used it more for breakfasts than evening meals. Evening meals have already been covered.

For breakfast there is oats, bacon, sausage, eggs, beans, toast, quiche, cereal, yoghurt, fruit, cookies, muffins, pancakes, salad. Basically anything you can think off. We have always found it a good value breakfast buffet.

However, I would say it was only last year I tried our hotel's buffet (Rosen Centre) and made the discovery that eggs and sausages can be like those we have at home. So there is a difference in the quality of the eggs and sausages you get in cheaper restaurants compared to more expensive ones. However, for a cheap way to fill up it is ideal.

Golden Corral offered a simple style but a couple of $ more expensive. Basically I would try different ones close to you each day, then if you have a favourite stick to that.

Have you tried Sizzler Steak House too? they are similar and have ice cream dessert with warm caramel and choc sauces - go back as many times as you like so remember to save some room for the pudding! ;)

We went to the Ponderosa and my aunt got food poisening so we don't like it. However, we LOVE the golden corral! LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!

We prefer Sizzler to Ponderosa for breakfast buffet.

Our daughter still cant believe that adults were eating huge ice cream portions for breakfast.

Ice cream for breakfast?! My kids would go crazy in there. Can't say I am a fan of buffets personally, but I don't mind a few of the Disney ones.

Thanks for that. I was looking at the fact our 4 year old could eat there from the buffet. Our 7 year old will love the buffet too. Had looked at the menu but it really doesn't tell you much. As we're staying in Disney not sure if we will eat down orlando before universal or seaworld.

We like Ponderosa and Sizzlers equally. Probably prefer Ponderosa for breakfast though, and Sizzlers for evening meal.

Even although we are now members of the DVC we still prefer to eat out of Disney. I like the variation of going to different restaurants on International Drive. Haven't tried Golden Corral yet, but tend to when we go in October.

First time we went was with a 4 year old and a 9 year old, and they loved both these places. There's so much choice, and very reasonably priced too.

Don't forget to look for those discount coupons for Golden Corral (10% off entire check) , Ponderosa(10% off), Sizzler(kids 10 & under eat free), IHOP (15% off) and many other restaurants located in free coupon magazines in the brochure racks at many hotels and often in the restaurants themselves near the exit.

Never pay full price for anything in Orlando!!

Golden Corall is far superior to Ponderosa. The food is of better quality and there is more choice.

Its a personal choice, everytime we have been in GC there has been food on floor, overcrowded and ignorant diners. Yes there is more choice but we prefer what Ponders has to offer especially the Clam chowder and Broccoli soup.
Everyone should try both and decide for themselves.:goodvibes

We've been to all 3 on a frequent basis whilst on holiday but our favourite is Denny's !!
