I wonder what you seasoned DVCer think of the following two observations:

1. Contracts for sold out resorts on the resale boards have risen to 80 per point for many contracts and more if the 2004 points are banked. Given this market and the price of points at disney being 89 per point for sold out resorts, and with the 100 bonus points they are giving, is it still a better deal to buy a resale than to add on through Disney?

2. Secondly, I have seen resale contracts for VB that have up to six annual passes as an incentive to purchase the contract. The other day I saw the same thing for a SSR contract? Do you think that means anything?

one of the early incentives to buy at SSR was annual passes - probably someone has some left over and when they decided to sell their SSR - they just put the annual passes in with it.

VB had hurricane damage - and some people think that if VB gets hits again DVC will do an accessment charge against those owners. I think this is a rumor????

I sold my VB a couple of years ago - but I had brought a Panhandle beach timeshare - that we would definitely use. - VB is a couple of hours away from WDW and is not a good location for us. Besides I don't like the ocean as much as the gulf beaches.

most people don't mind traveling to WDW - but VB is a beach location and I think most people can find a beach location much closer to them than VB. my opinions don't mean a thing....

sorry forgot your first question.

what is listed on resale and what the person will take are generally 2 different questions. Offer what you want and see if your contract get taken - it takes much longer this way - but you might get a deal - just remember the number that DVC does ROFR

Resale vs. Disney - For smaller contracts, if you can add on at sold out resorts, it may be better through Disney because of the closing cost factor on smaller contracts.

I would guess the APs are an incentive the seller is offering, and a way to get a higher offer from the buyer to as to make it easier to pass ROFR. Just my guess though.
