Ponchos!!!

Just back and that is my biggest tip. Buy lots of those cheap ponchos for the Dollar store. They came in really handy and then we threw them away. I also had a cheap dollar umbrella. Those afternoon storms pop up really fast.

How small are they? The Disney ones are great, but way bulky and heavy, and since I'm the only one with a pack, I'd have to carry all 4.

i have a dollar store unbrella (sp?) and it small enough to fit in my medium/kinda small purse and they come in dif. colors so your kids could each pick out a color

I bought the ones at Target (in the camping section). They're very compact and tuck into a pocket, fanny pack, etc. very nicely. Was sooooo glad to have mine when a huge downpour came up last year, the evening before Hurricane Wilma hit WDW! Others in our group had to pay big bucks for the WDW ponchos, but I had my 79-cent Target poncho and was all set! I made sure to have one in my fanny pack the whole time.

I just threw them away when I was done - no need to try to dry them out and fold them back down.

I bought some this year at the dollar store. They come 2 in a package for a $1. They are a 2" square. Very easy to tuck away. The only thing I notice about these disposables that you don't have with the regular non disposable ponchos is they seem to make you sweat (for lack of a better word) very quickly. I also don't think I would use them on small children because they are really just like a garbage bag. Perfect for us big people though and like Zo Zo says, when the rain passes, you just toss them. They are also good if you want to go on the water rides but not get wet.
