I just read in a post that someone is bring ponchos. I had never though of that. Duh!!!!! Are there other obvious things that I had not thought about?

I always have ponchos with me on every trip to WDW. You can get them at Walmart or Target for about 88 cents. I just bought some red ones at Target for our upcoming trip. I try to get colored ones now that Disney's ponchos are clear. That way it's easier to find my family.
A few other things that we always bring are crystal light on-the-go packets. They are small packets of lemonade that you pour in your water bottle. This helps with the taste of the water when we refill our bottles or get free water from the counter service restuarants. I give my children each a disposable camera for the trip. We get some funny pictures from them and alot of pictures of people butt's. I guess that's about all a kid sees. LOL!
If I think of more stuff, I'll let you know.

I see you are going in August, (so are we) You may want to go the Disney store and pick up a couple of those little fans. They are only a couple of bucks and work pretty well. Our first trip everyone suggested the mister bottle fans, but they were a pain to carry. No one wanted to lug them around. These little ones fit right in your pocket. One other thing I would never go without is wipes. Small travel packs, also at Walmart or Target, fit in pocket or fanny pack. Get a couple for everyone. Great to wipe your face and neck when it's really humid. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

If you are going in August. Take ponchos about 3 aclock very day the thunderstorms roll in.

We usually go in Aug and we usually bring a backpack with water bladder to stay hydrated. We fill it ice in the campsite and then fill it with water at the campsite or when we get to a park. You can alos get these as beltbags if the backpack is too big. This way you will always have water with you.

You will still have rain in October. Bring the ponchos!

We usually pack a whole bunch of the cheapie ones because they are light enough to carry every day and cheap enough to throw away after you use them. :)

we carry empty water bottles in our pack---Disney has plenty of chilled water fountains for fill ups and it doesn't "sweat" on everything else

I don't use a poncho, I use an actual rainsuit.

Having said that, however, on days when rain is not forecast, I put a disposable poncho in my pocket for the short rainshowers. I wear the rainsuit if rain is on most of the day.
