Pomona CA?

Is anyone from or know anything about Pomona CA? I have to go there for work & might stay a few extra days since I have never been to CA before.

Don't stay in Pomona! Run, run far away. I haven't been to that area is over 10 years but last I went, it was BAD, BAD, BAD.

Maybe you can stay in Corona Hills or Diamond Bar ( I grew up in Diamond Bar, last I went 8 years it was still a nice affulent town). Brea is nice, nice shopping. There is a mall/outlet called Ontario Mills not to far from Pomona but not all of Ontario is safe either...

I did not know it was close to DL. My Best Friend has told me it is not that great. The company I have to visit I hope will pick a nice hotel for us. Shilo Inn comes up on Expedia looks ok. I think they might send a car for us. I think we are flying into Ontario.

I live in So Cal and there are actually very nice places in Ontario. But I would suggest LaVerne for a place to stay. Pomona is not the best. I live in Corona and it is about 20 minutes from Pomona. If your thinking Disney, Anaheim has nice areas too.

It all depends on what you want to do while your here.

Looks like I am staying at a Comfort Suites in San Dimas. And DH gets to fly out also so i think I am going to go to DL!! I am so happy, I get to go to DL I never thought I would get to go to DL. The bad part is we will have to go to DL on the weekend. So I am heading over to the DL boards for some need advice.

Oh, great.....this is just GREAT! We will be there in two weeks. Hitting DL for a couple of days and then staying in Pomona while checking out the Claremont Colleges...............Sheraton Fairplex Suites........seemed like the only decent place to stay in that area (we don't do motels).

What are the issues in Pomona? Crime? Gangs? Let me know, please so if I need to change I have time to make other arrangements!

"san dimas"-grab a copy of "bill and ted's excellant adventure"-that's where they lived!

pamona! only thing i know about it is a friend was involved with a church called "victory outreach" that integrated itself nationaly into high crime, high drug use communities (founder was a former ex-con, heroin user)-and pamona was one of their key california communities (held national conferences there, had many half-way houses there). don't know the current status of the place but at least 7 years ago it was not a prime place to settle or visit.

San Dimas is a nice place. I wouldn't mind moving there if I were to move back to CA. You'll be fine there.
