Polynesian

Samoa! Closest to everything and recently refurbished. Ask for ground floor Volcano Pool side and it's great, easy access out your door to pool, snacks, ceremonial house and has a sideway view of lagoon.

2nd choice would be Tokelau, it's a bigger building so your chances of getting it are good.

We just returned 10/6 and had asked for Samoa poolside, but all they had was quiet pool side, which turned out to be great. We were at the end of the building so door was very close and we like the ground floor location.

I've heard good things about Figi, but it seemed to me to be a little removed from the action.

Have fun, we love the Poly!

and had Samoa, room 3603. 3rd floor across from vending and elevator. Super location as far a convenience to Capt. Cooks, volcano pool, good water view for garden view price. Could not see the fireworks directly, or as DD9 put it, great view of hte smoke Mom. There is a set of stairs at the opposite end of the hall that has a balcony, might could view from there. Easy walk down to the beach to watch them directly. We were able to watch the electrical water pagent each night from our balcony. They also play the music for that and wishes over the outside speakers so you can get the full effect. Only complaint I had was about the inconsiderate parents that let their wild children run screaming down the hallways at 6:45 AM. Otherwse it's a great location.

We recently had Samoa, 3rd floor, quiet pool side. We were all the way at the end of the hall, so if we leaned over the left side or our balcony, we had a tiny lagoon view :)

It was a good location, with easy access to everything (pool, beach and the Great Ceremonial house), which was good since we always seemed to be in the GCH exactly when the mid-afternoon rain showers came through (it was easy to run through the Nuie building into our building without getting too wet).

I can't speak about other locations because it was my first trip to the Poly (though I don't think it will be my last, and I'll probably request a Samoa, volcano pool view... to get the partial lagoon view).

Tokelau by far. We were on the end of the building right across from Hawaii. We got practically LV for GV prices! You could see GF and CR perfectly from our balcony and if there wasn't ONE palm tree we would have seen the castle. But there was a viewing area one door down from our room.

It is right next to the quiet pool. Not a far walk from the TTC. And it didn't even take a minute to get to the GCH and Volcano Pool. We loved it! If they'd had high speed internet we would have stay there this coming up trip.

How noisy is it when you have a view of the Volcano pool or the quiet pool? Do you hear people swimming at all hours?

The reason I ask is that last year we stayed on the 9th floor of the Contemporary, facing the pool, and we were kept up very late every night (usually 1-2 AM) by people swimming and children screaming.

wow! the 9th floor?

we stayed in niue (my fav at the moment) and had no problems, facing the volcano pool...albeit its not that close to it, but people walkin by was never a problem...

Thanks for the reply ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

We stayed on the 9th floor of the Contemporary facing the pool and it was noisy, so I am concerned about the lower buildings at the Poly being noisy from the pools.
