Polynesian? Wilderness Lodge? Split Stay?

Last night my DH had dinner with my parents and OF COURSE WDW came up. Both my mom and my DH are itching to go back, as am I, and I know that on our next BIG trip, my parents will be coming with us. My mom stated that she wants to stay at the Polynesian or Wilderness Lodge. If we go for a long stay (which is what I'm hoping - 2 weeks) then I will definitely split between two resorts. But I would rather split between a MK and an Epcot. But if I know my mom, she will probably help foot the bill for the trip, ESPECIALLY because it will be for her grandson (who only has 5 weeks left to bake!).

So I think she should ultimately choose where to stay, you know?

So is it ridiculous to split between Polynesian and Wilderness Lodge? Or should I try to talk her into Beach Club and Polynesian (which are my choices ).

Any thoughts are appreciated. BTW, we're thinking this trip will be in August of 2004 - too long, I know!!!!!

I agree with you, I wouldn't split between WL & PR. But, then again, I did split between CR & GF. If your mom really wants WL & PR, I'd go for it!

To me, it does make more sense to split between an Epcot and MK resort, but the WL and Poly are so different in theming that if you wanted to, that would be a nice split too!

You know how much I love the Epcot resorts, so naturally I'd pick Poly/BC for you. But, if someone else was footing the bill... I dont think I'd be too choosy! how nice of your Mom.

We are taking my Mom and her husband to WDW for her 60th b-day, it isnt for 3 yrs, but we were talking about it today! it's exciting

I think the two resorts are very differently themed, so it would be neat to split your stay.

I have to agree that a split stay between the Poly and WL is a great choice if you want to feel like you are on TWO vacations instead of one....we will be checking into the CBR this Friday (Ooooh, I CAN'T wait!!!! ) and then WL on Tuesday. Since their themes are SOOOO different, it'll almost feel like 2 separate vacations. It also helps to make your decision when someone else is "footing the bill" (or most of it !) When it comes down to it, ANY PLACE you pick is going to be magical cuz' you will be at the BEST PLACE ON EARTH!!!!
