Ok - I am watching the dvd of a wedding that took place at the Polynesian. It is a girl in my town, I do not really know her, but my mom is a teacher and her mother subs for mine. Quick review....I was not wild about the violinist and the other thing that bothered me was that the boats were going by honking their horns and a plane wooshed over. I guess that the world does not stop b/c of a wedding. I thought the pictures were good and the place was pretty. Anyway, for those of you marrying there I just thought I would let you know that there will probably be noise.

We were married there in December, and to be quite honest I didn't notice a thing. I didn't even know boats had passed until we watched the video later and you could hear the horns. It totally didn't take anything away from our wedding. When you're up there all that matters is you and him. In fact the violinist could have played the death march and I wouldn't have noticed or cared a bit. If you love the site go with it, don't worry about background noise, or small annoyances, at that moment you'll be the only 2 in the world so you wouldn't care if aliens landed in the lake behind you.

We are getting married there on 11/06. Thanks for the info.

melmel is right - I agonized over the music the violinist should play for my Maid of Honor and for when I walked in with my father, and honestly I couldn't tell you what he played! Before I got there my bra was digging in  and my headband was giving me a headache and my bouquet weighed a ton in my hand, but when my father took my arm and we walked out nothing hurt or bothered me anymore. All I could see was my soon-to-be husband and all I could hear were the words we said to each other and all I could feel was complete joy. I know that sounds sappy but it's true :) We didn't do the video so I have no idea what anything really sounded like!

The background noise gets picked up more on the video so it sounds a lot louder then it actually is. The same thing happened at my sister's wedding at the Swan & Dolphin. I didn't notice a thing at the time, and I was just a guest, but when we watched the video we couldn't hear the bride or groom or officiant, all we heard were the boats and such going by. Stupid camera microphone. (it was an amateur video by the way)
