Polynesian v. Wilderness Lodge???

We have stayed at both. During December hands down I would choose the WL, it has the best decorations. However, I enjoyed Poly with the monorail. We had the DxDP and it made it easy to get to restaurants at the monorail resorts plus getting back and forth to the parks with little ones. It's a tough call but we enjoyed WL better than Poly.

We also stayed CL at the WL and DH really really liked it but it has gotten more expensive the past few years. The balconies kinda stink and in our case really stink since we were over a restaurant and it was the middle of summer. Now we requested and were granted a north facing woods view and had view of the castle and the fireworks every night it was very magical for my DD in fact it was the first thing she looked for at the Poly and was disappointed she could not see the castle.

There is a CL thread on this board that will give you pictures. We enjoyed having access to the snacks all day and with little ones it was great for breakfast.

Can I just add that they are supposedly doing a total overhaul of the Poly in 2013. Like so big that they are moving CMs to different hotels for that period. That was our deciding factor...I wanted to stay just once at the "original" Poly. This is our first time, so we looked at every resort option out there. We narrowed it down to POFQ, Wilderness Lodge, or Poly. Went with Poly because of the rumor and because of the food. Plus we like the ease of monorail

But I have heard wonderful things about WL at Christmas time. I would do a split stay if I were you, then you get the best of both worlds.

Hmm where did you hear that. There were some rumors floating around message boards, but there is nothing announced regarding changes to the Poly. I would not base descision on some rumors.

We have done CL a few times in some of our stays......food is rather good...but we found thru the years, we wanted more for breakfast and we do pool picnics for lunch (sandwich fixings we picked up in route) and decided the cost for CL just wasn't for us.....

We like to take the boat to FW to Trails End for their breakfast buffet and dinner buffet....being tied in to CL and eating elsewhere meant double spending so we opt out on CL....

We figure with our grocery stop we pick up everything we care to eat and snack on, purchase all the soda, wine, beer, and alcohol we'll need and it's a huge savings over doing CL...plus is readily available in our room when we want it and we usually hang out at the pool when we're back at the resort and cart our necessities down with us......still leaves us free time to try some other restaurants....especially wouldn't recommend CL if you're doing the dining plan......way too much in food and money....
