Polynesian Resort Music

Does anybody know where I can get it??!! Okay, I have been looking for 2 years for the music that they play in the lobby of the Polynesian Resort with NO LUCK! I kind of forgot about it, but we have another trip planned to the Polynesian in May and I am trying to get into the Polynesian spirit again! So, I was on a music sharing web sight (not that I condone it ) and I figured I would try to search for it...And I found it!! (so I know it's out there!!) But, since it was soooo long, it only downloaded the first few minutes of it and now I can't find it again. Does anyone have any ideas where I can get it or download it?? (I know I could just go out and buy any polynesian music...but I'm sure all you die-hard polynesian resort fans know...it's just not the same). I don't know why the Polynesian doesn't sell this in their gift shop. I would spend the money in a heartbeat for it!!

The Polynesian "loop", like all resort music loops, isn't available per se. That is, WDW doesn't sell a CD of the specific loop. At one time I had a list of each song played on the loop which was provided to me by guest relations via the music division. I was told the only way to recreate a loop was to buy each individual song and burn your own CD. There were many, many songs on the loop and many different artists. Guest relations did provide the artist and album title, but I didn't have much success locating some of the more obscure titles.

At one time the Polynesian did sell a CD of the music played at the luau although last time I checked, it wasn't in stock.

I'm with you though--if Disney could get around the copyright aspect of the music played on the resort loops, they would make some money from the resort devotees!

I don't know if this is exactly what you are looking for but one of the stations on live 365 radio plays a loop from the Poly. It is about an hour long. I heard it twice last week while listening. It is on one of the Mouseworld stations. You do have to be a member to listen. Hope that helps.We head to the poly for the first time next month and it was really cool to listen to.

I did a search on my favorite file sharing program and found only 2 files....

#1 - Walt Disney World - Polynesian Resort - Lanai Music

#2 - Walt Disney World - Polynesian Resort - Original Hukilau Song

I was able to download #1. It's a little over 3 minutes long. I have not been able to download #2.

Since I've never stayed at the Poly....I really don't know exactly what you are looking for....but, if you'd like me to e-mail you #1 mp3, just message me. The file is only 1.5 MB, so it should go through via e-mail.

speedyf- Thank you so much for helping me look for those songs! That was so kind of you Actually, though, I already downloaded those songs. We must have the same file sharing network because I found those same exact 2 songs! They're a little different than what is played in the lobby, but they were close. I'm telling you though, the songs in the lobby are very distict. They get stuck in your head and you can't get them out. (Hmmm... maybe it was because I spent so much time at the Tambu Lounge during my last trip...right under a speaker... .

I was sitting at Ohana's eating dinner once and I heard a song that is on a CD that I had bought from one of the CD clubs years ago. It was a CD of Hawaiian folk music. I forget the singers name but the CD's name was "Wooden Boat" I love that CD. The music is very relaxing. I don't recommend listening to it in the car though. But the music just takes me to Hawaii and the Polynesian.

I don't have any advice on obtaining this music, but I had to chime in to say that my family STILL sings a song we heard over the speakers when we were there for Christmas 1986. It was some sort of Polynesian Christmas song. It's been almost 20 years and I still remember it!

I'd love to have the url. It wouldn't be Christmas without hearing "On the First Day of Christmas my tutu gave to me...." but we will miss it this year because we are not staying at the Polynesian this time.

Subsonicradio is your answer. I looked every where for Poly area music till I found this site. I believe they have 17 traks you can request. Hope this helps.
