We had both a couple of weeks ago, and the primary difference between the Lapu and the BS was that the BS seemed MUCH stronger. In fact, friend and I were sent to the pool bar to get LL's for our wives, only to discover that although they make them there, they don't serve them in the pineapples....what's the point?! Ha! So we went inside to Tambu to get them. The novelty of getting an actual backscratcher in a drink is greatly diminished, given that there are no Poly markings anywhere on it (which would make it a much cooler souvenir). Same is true for the pina colada from Tambu, served in a cool tiki glass, but with no emblem like there used to be. Still good, and I still bought one at the gift shop a while ago, but if they would go back to putting "Polynesian Village/Resort" on the tiki glasses, I'd certainly buy another. (And isn't the first question of drink-buying always whether there is a cool souvenir associated with it?!)
Also discovered once back at the pool that they were making an Uncle Sam, which was a red, white and blue concoction (it happened to be July 4, so I don't know if this is something they'll do at other times). Seemed to be made of raspberry puree on the bottom...pina colada mix in the middle and some blue caracao floating on the top, all served in a souvenir Poly hurricane glass. Basically a de-constructed pina colava with a hit of blue on top. Quite tasty, and I felt like we were supporting America in the process!
