I am a manager at a major finanancial firm, and clients are constantly abusive to my front-line employees until they are given what they feel they deserve. They threaten to go "up the ladder" until they get what they want. Unfortunately, there is a lack of respect and an expectation that you should get whatever you want because you "deserve" it.

So your website is not the problem. It is the selfishfishness and boorishness of people today in our spoiled society. Off the soapbox.

Your site is wonderful and so full of history. Besides, when you see it in person, the pictures will never do it enough justice anyway. The pictures just give people something to fantazize about and look forward to. Please don't take down your site and give in to the idiots.

Hi Steve, I hope that you don't get rid of your site I haven't been here in a while for family reasons but whenever one of us needs a Disney Fix we go to yoursite and read the history of Our favorite resort. It really helps to brighten my day. Even my 17 YO went for a visit since we aren't going this summer he just wanted to see the beach.
People are often rude to folks who work in areas of service it is one of the unfortunate parts of those jobs but even with the rude and insulting people I would still think it is a better place to work than say Best Buys in Moorestown, NJ. I think you have to have the proper temperment in order to work in guest services anywhere.
Pleae don't end your site I really do enjoy getting my short trips to WDW via the internet. Thanks, Denise

While knowledge and information are impowering, it does not give anyone the right to be rude if they don't get what they want. What a shame that these selfish people are causing the CMs so much grief and prompting Tikiman to re-consider his site.

Tikiman, there are many of us who are so glad to be at the Poly regardless of the longouse. I look at yor site primarily to help me anticipate our next stay. Looking at the pools etc. on your site brings back great memories. I hope you keep it going.

What you said above is so true. I just can't understand people going through life with such a chip on their shoulder and such a bad attitude in general. The service industry may not be the correct second career for me. I would say out of every twenty guests, I really enjoy 20-22 of them. But there are at least three to five every day who make it difficult.

I can only hope that my little post earlier today did not affect Steve't decision. His site is wonderful and his posts are so helpful to people about to visit Disney and the Polynesian.

I too hope Tikiman doesn't remove his site. It is so nice to be able to go and get info concerning the Poly. It was so helpful to us last year when we stayed there. We loved it so much, we are going back this year and I'm planning to use it again. Like it was said earlier, some people want their cake and be able to eat it too. The Poly is beautiful and we were thrilled to be able to stay there last year as well as this year. The entire resort is small, unlike some of the others, and you can't get a bad view. People need to be thankful that they are able to come to WDW and especially grateful that they are able to stay here. That is one of the problems that this world has today. People are not grateful for what they have. They just want more and more. The CM's are human and can only do so much. Remember, if you give someone a smile, you may get one back and it may be the only smile that person receives that day!

Tikiman, I don't think your site is the problem. If that were the case then all of these boards would also be to blame! Some people just can't get it through their heads that requests are only requests. This also happens at hotels outside of WDW. Whenever we go to the ocean and check in there is always someone complaining they didn't get the room or view they requested and I'm sure there are no boards or sites that talk about that place! Don't blame yourself for ignorant people. They will turn up to complain all on their own!

Steve, Your web page is AWESOME... and I agree with what everyone has to say. I know I have asked you about location recently but only because of my mom's congestive heart failure and how hard it is to walk much distance for her. Otherwise I would be SOOO happy to be anywhere at the Poly! We have stayed at three different longhouses on various trips there and were'nt disappointed with any of them. If it weren't for my mom and her health issues I would say, I'll take anything at the Poly... just put me THERE! LOL. Please don't consider taking down your web page.... there are other places for some of the information you provide and people determined to find that information somewhere will... and they will be nice about it or rude and demanding... through no fault of yours! My ticker says we're staying at the CB. But mom upgraded us on the ship so now we're at my favorite... the Polynesian!
