We just got back from our first trip and we stayed at Boardwalk. We loved it and the location. We are planning our next trip for Nov 13 and we want to be in the MK area this time. Plus we are planning on the very merry christmas party we are having a hard time deciding between Poly or WL please help

We just spent a few weeks deciding this ourselves! We decided on WL for a few reasons. Liked that is was cheaper!! We are able to spend 7 nights at the WL for less than 6 nights at Poly would have cost us. We also liked that all rooms have balconies at WL. After much research, we realized that not all rooms at the Poly have one. We also realized that we can experience plenty at the Poly without actually staying there. We can eat there and see the fireworks from the beach just by visiting. In the end, we just felt that WL would be a better bang for our buck! Good luck deciding!

I don't think you can go wrong with either resort. I'd probably go with the WL just because I think that theme fits a little better with Christmas than a tropical theme. And I've heard the resort is beautiful when decorated for the holidays. I don't know if they'll have Christmas decorations up by 11/13 though.

I had the same opposite decision haha. I had booked WL but also was considering poly. Going during christmas time as well. I ended up cancelling WL and choosing poly because i can enjoy the lobby and food of WL without staying there. But at poly i cannot expirience the larger rooms and the pool with a castle view every night. Plus id love to come to a tropical feel resort at the end of each evening from the parks.

as pp stated - you can't go wrong with either one - but we love wl - it makes you feel like you're on a real vacation -

As others have said, you can't go wrong with either one as they are both great. We have stayed at both and love both for different reasons, although our favorite is the Poly, with the WL running a close second. With that said, if the Christmas decorations were going to be up during your stay, I think I'd go with the WL as the resort/lobby is amazing when decorated for the holidays. Otherwise, I would go with the Poly for the larger room with a daybed, the beach for watching the fireworks, and the beautiful tropical atmosphere. Good luck deciding.

We love both of them. It just depends on what you want to enjoy most. The Poly has the monorail which makes it more convenient to get to the MK. The WL has an amazing lobby and you can sit and relax in a rocking chair in front of the fireplace. As everyone else has said, you can't go wrong with either of them.

i'm calling the poly police on you.... :rotfl:

POLYNESIAN!!!!!!!! all the way. totally worth the money...

For Christmas time I would choose WL. We are going to Poly in January and I would choose WL if they had a room that would hold all 5 of us!! I like the atmosphere of WL in fall/winter and love Poly in spring/summer. Both great choices and I actually think it's easier and quicker to get to MK from WL than Poly.

Just got back from the WL. Personally I'd stay at the Poly next time, but mostly because of proximity. When we're on vacation at Disney, I like to feel in the mix and close to the other properties and parks. WL feels secluded. I know that's important to some but I wasn't a fan. We didn't have a chance to wander through any other resorts, and at Christmas a few years ago that was one of our favorite things to do. On the plus side, WL is a 10 minute boat ride to MK which is a fun way to enter.
