Polynesian Luau or Hoop-Dee-Doo

If you could only go to one dinner show, which would you pick? Polynesian Luau or the Hoop-Dee-Doo and why?

There is a thread buried here from about 3 weeks ago on this very subject. I will repeat my opinion here incase you can't find it. We have been to both several times. The old Luau show was better than the current show. However, there is no comparrison between HDDR and the Luau show now showing. HDDR wins hands down. We found the food at both was good. The Luau was presented on a large platter and HDDR was in a bucket. Both had chicken and ribs. The Luau show was just a shadow of its former self and my wife and I decided we probably would not go back. HDDR has not changed at all. It is very corny but very funny. Hope this helps..smjj

Without a doubt---HDD. I have been to both many times and I agree with the previous poster, the Luau show has definitely gone downhill over the years. IMO, the Luau food has always been inferior to HDD's food.
HDD is a little on the pricey side, especially for a large family, but it is a true, longstanding WDW classic and worth every penny-- just for the laughs, alone!

Like the food better not that the Luau foood is bad just like the fried chicken and ribs more at HDDR.We also enjoy the songs and Hee Haw type puns and jokes.The skit they do about Davey Crockett is a hoot.I'm biased though since I'm a Pioneer Hall Player.

I love the HDDR! The show was great and I really enjoyed the food. I liked the luau, but the food just wasn't for me. Too squishy...yuck!

HDDR. It's timeless. It's hilarious and the food is always hot and tasty!

My expereince at the luau was that of kind of cold food which never got replaced after we finished. Also, IMO, the show was kind of boring.

We love the HDDR. We stay at the Polynesian, so the Luau doesn't appeal to us .
